I went to this Farmers Market on Saturday mornings thoughout the summer and into the early fall of 2011. It was open by the time I first hear of it in May, and I think it closed mid-October.
It's small, but it definitely met most of my needs. I always made a great haul. I never saw less than 12 vendors, and it was usually 15-20.
Fresh herbs (which started my fascination with basil), watermelons, canteloupes, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, goat cheese (the herb kind was good, but I really loved it plain)...the list goes on.
The location listed was still current then; look for the covered pavillion on the south side of the street.
My only caution: GO EARLY! By noon, the place is a ghost town...

i love going there on saturdays just to see what fresh veggies they have & fruit. Home grown is sooo much better than store bought.

I love eating locally and challenge myself to cook up something from farm fresh ingredients as often as possible. Who'd have thought you could get all the the stuff for thai curry (except coconut milk) in the middle of near- barren Texas! Thanks San Angelo Growers.

Farmer's market of San Angelo always has most fresh fruit & vegetables around. They also provide information & advise for consumers.

When I was a kid, my father took us out to the farms to pick our own produce and it is so great to taste and cook just picked vegetables and fruit. There is no other way.

It's a great town and just the right size. People are friendly and care about each other. The Farmer's Market is a great place to get home-grown produce and support our local people.
