Horribly expensive and patrons clog the library parking lot so those of us with kids can't park to use the library.

The market is trying to say that they are making a green movement by making vendors use "bio-degradable" packaging but it should be stated as compost-able plastics. While I think that this decision should be the vendors and consumers decision instead of the market masters that is only the tip of the iceberg. First off they are a little hypocritical because they do not have any recycling available at the market and if they wanted to go to more sustainable practices then I would believe the first thing they would do would be to add some recycling bins. I've complained about this and they have yet to do anything.

Second the market masters did not do their research. Being so close to Portland, which has recently published a study on the topic (http://www.pprc.org/research/rapidresDocs/biobags.pdf), I would think that they would have at least looked on-line to see if bio-degradable bags really are "green". The truth is bio-degradable bags will not decompose in the land-fill and require a hot active compost pile to decompose but since they take so long to decompose many commercial compost pile ask that people do not place the "bio-degradable" plastics in their compost bin. Bio-degradable plastics contaminate recyclable plastics if recycled. Also, when these bags decompose they release green-house gasses including methane which is 5 time worse than carbon-dioxide and I thought part of being "green" was trying to reduce these emissions while becoming sustainable. Do you think paper is better than plastic? Think again paper requires about 80% more energy to make, 98% more energy to recycle and cost a lot more to transport due to how heavy a paper bag is compared to a plastic. It also causes us to destroy precious trees which plastic does not. A better option would be to move to a plastic that is created from a renewable resource while not contaminating our recycling which has been on an increase the last few years as people start to think oh yeah I should recycle this instead of throw it away.

For more information just search the internet.

Also look for information about what has been found in landfills after x number of years. Some examples: 5 year old lettuce and 30 year old news papers have been in landfills with little to no degradation. In order for stuff to decompose it needs the right conditions and landfills do not usually provide enough oxygen to do anything.

They bring in a lot of certified organic farmers from the area and quite a few local artisans too. It makes being a locavore very possible and quite easy because of their great selection from bread to veggies!

It has the freshest selection and that is comparing it to a very small and sunday only Tigard farmers market that is at funeral home parking lot. Beaverton has a lot of parking and a local library across the street, and public transporatation right across the street. They have a shade area and so many things to choose from it is hard not to spend your entire paycheck shopping there!

It's in such a convenient location with an abundance of wonderful produce and lots of organic, unique food choices. I've sampled each Farmers' Market in the area, and this is simply my favorite. Friendly vendors and lively people abound!

Beaverton Farmer's Market is just the right size - we can find all the variety we want, and yet it's still small enough that we can talk with the growers to learn about their practices and specialties. It's a family outing we look forward to each week.

The music, artisan cheeses, bakeries, Fetzers Sausages, plants, flowers, mustards are all wonderful. But, it is the abundant selection of fresh local produce that brings me back each week.

The Veaverton Farmers Market is located in a comfortable park setting next to the Beaverton Library on mass transit lines. It has a great variety of booths with produce, cooked foods, arts and crafts, plants, soaps, honey, wine, candy and lots of other wonderful things. It has a great sense of community. I love to browse in the friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Three good reasons: they have a lot of locally grown foods, courteous staff and farmers, and I've been going there all my life (22 years) almost every Saturday. P.S. Biggest farmers market I've ever been to.

Outstanding local produce and foods, and it allows us to support the local farmers. We buy the majority of our food from the farmers market when it is open.

It is within 4 blocks of our home. We walk over to enjoy the food, flowers & music. Food is artistically arranged, is fresh and appealing. Prices vary from booth to booth so we can choose how much to pay. Love the Fetzer's sausages, fresh breads, jams, fresh veggies and fresh fruit. They also have a Master Gardener booth where we can ask questions about our own flower and vegetable gardens. We always see folks we know as we walk about. We love to see the children playing in the delightful fountain. It is our town center every Saturday morning.

It is the best thing to do on a Saturday morning. You get the best fresh produce among a variety of things from plants to fresh bread. Not only is it the happening spot, it is a place for community. When I was younger you knew all your neighbors and you did things together. In Beaverton, the farmers market is where the community comes together for fun and togetherness. This is the place that I get to see some of my friends that I get to see seldom otherwise. Between the great products, the good food and the music a fun time is had by all. I have been to other farmers markets, but none have that down home fun filled feel to them. We love it and are happy that we have it in our community. We look forward to going every Saturday and definitely hate to miss it.

They have great market items including the best Oregon strawberries and heirloom tomatoes. The plant selection early in the season is first rate. And most of all they have a wonderful friendly atmosphere with activities including music every week. It's definitely the best market bar-none!

This is the most amazing Farmers' Market I've ever seen. You'll find every type of fresh regional produce, plus handcrafts like homemade jams and jellies, fresh-harvested mushrooms of amazing variety, fresh baked breads, beeswax candles, local Oregon wines and salmon barely out of the water.

There's a sampling of local and international foods if you're hungry and ready to eat after looking at all that food, and live music to enjoy while you eat it.

I can't imagine a more wonderful place to shop, or a better place to introduce a child to the bounty of the Earth. There's even a glorious fountain for them to splash in after they're tired of walking... and it's right next to Beaverton's remarkable library , in case you want to pick up some books or DVDs after you shop.

I'm a recent transplant to this area from South Dakota (and originally, northern Virginia), and I thought I'd seen farmers markets... but I've never seen anything like this.

Don't miss it!
