The juicy tomatoes alone are worth the share fee!

Thais and Will are very gracious and knowledgeable. Their produce ranges from peppers to eggplant and back to basil. Corn and watermelon are amazing as well.

All the members were nice to me, a newbie. To see the cuke vines come down so fast on the last day is a testament to the hard work of all, even the teenagers.

I loved hearing the conversation among the members about snakes and chickens to vintage V Dubs. "Nixon started the EPA." He's not all bad, right. Bye bye DDT, hello song birds.

It is a rich experience with some honey on top, literally. Hives produce the golden manna as they welcome you to Port Hudson Organics CSA.

A little paradise.

We've been visiting Will and Thais for many years and have been CSA members since it began. Always a great experience. This year the facebook page provided a ton of fun recipes. It was great working with the other CSA members and getting to know them after seeing their comments online. Thanks for another great year.

Will and Thais grow a great variety of produce and a flexible way of allowing shareholders to choose from their bounty. Whereas all other CSAs that we've been a part of assign their members certain amounts of specific vegetables, at Port Hudson Organics you don't have to get beets if you prefer an extra share of corn. Theirs is a small farm but somehow they make this system work. All the vegetables are delicious, the honey is ambrosial, and the value-added items (when available) have included fresh bread, herb jelly, and homemade pickles. It is a joy to work alongside them--and even when we arrive after the work has been done (yes, sometimes we're late risers) we have never left empty-handed.

I loved meeting Will and Thais last week. You get a lot of fresh produce for a great price. We are enjoying eating our selections and can't wait to see what we get this week!

Great Saturday morning picking and packing all of the baskets of veggies. I helped pick beans and corn for about an hour and then separated everything into the baskets for everyone to pick up. As we sorted the produce we all chatted, shared recipes, and talked about our families. It was a great experience to be out there with all of the other families and the produce that we took home was incredible. I used the rosemary in a marinade for chicken on the grill that night. We also had swiss chard & beet greens to go along with our fresh corn. Great meal and knowing that we picked it made it even better. I'm looking forward to cooking the squash, beets, and more corn this week. I also need to make a salad to use my fresh lettuce!

We just had our first weekend of harvesting and what a wonderful experience it was. There were a multitude of people helping - children included. There was such a variety of choices and as the weeks progress, there will be even more choices. After helping pick beans and sorting baskets for pick-up, we got our basket and went home where I immediately washed and cooked the veggies. The corn was stupendous - had it for lunch. There is nothing like fresh veggies and herbs. The property is beautiful and actually picture perfect. We are looking forward to next week.

For the first time I was introduced to picking produce at the farm. The time was 8 AM and there were plenty of people active in the picking. Will and Thais were t here providing instructions and encouragement and enthusiasm. The entire experience was wonderful. The energy was positive and everyone was so nice including the children who were very active in picking the produce as well. I went home and made a soup from the fresh produce and the corn on the cob was fantastic. It was enjoyable and the farm is beautiful, especially the rows of flowers and the herbs had the air smelling great. I am very glad I joined the CSA. I believe that more people should have the experience of obtaining fresh organic produce and have a hand in the planting and picking of said produce. They would appreciate more what the farmer does and how hard he /she must work to feed themselves and others. Port Hudson Organics you are fantastic!!!!

My family just finished dinner this evening. We enjoyed delicious sweet corn just picked this morning. It was fabulous. We are looking forward to working our way through our "basket" of goodies from Port Hudson Organics. The selection of vegetables/herbs/etc is diverse. There is something for everyone. Will & Thais have a beautiful farm. I found them using localharvest.org and am very thankful I did.
