After my mother died in 1985,my sister moved to Ringwood,NJ and I stayed in NY. It was a great time going out to see her and she loved Ringwood. My sister took me all over to tag and garage sales and we always loved our veg. Growing up in the Bronx, we didn't have much money so instead of candy, we would eat raw onions, raw potatoes, raw celery and raw carrots. My sister unfortunately died @ age 50 in 2001 and I miss her so much.

The Ringwood Famers Market is rich in variety and fresh products; provides an old fashioned country atmosphere for shopping and socializing; and works within the community to provide educational opportunities out-side of the growing season. The Ringwood Farmers' Market has more than 15 vendors selling a variety of produce, and prepared foods. There is one large conventional grower, one organic vegetable grower, two flower and plants vendors. There are two orchards who feature seasonal fruit and baked goods. One vendor sells outstanding artisan breads that sell out every week. In addition, there are two caterers who make prepared food from local ingredients. There's a pickle vendor, a locally made frozen pizza guy, and a jam vendor. The market also has a superb selection of grass-fed meat available from two vendors. An artisan coffee roaster offers fair trade organic locally roasted coffee.
The market is situated in the town's Park and Ride, so parking is never a problem. It makes for a great family activity since it is adjacent to a large, new playground and a beautiful library.
The market hosts weekly free music events between 10-12 and shaded seating is available. Once a month, the market plans some type of event featuring local merchants or artisans.
