Maggie's Ringwood Farmers' Market

By: Amy Jolin (Jul 31, 2008)
The Ringwood Farmers' Market has more than 15 vendors selling a variety of produce, and prepared foods. There is one large conventional grower, one organic vegetable grower, two flower and plants vendors. There are two orchards who feature seasonal fruit and baked goods. One vendor sells outstanding artisan breads that sell out every week. In addition, there are two caterers who make prepared food from local ingredients. There's a pickle vendor, a locally made frozen pizza guy, and a jam vendor. The market also has a superb selection of grass-fed meat available from two vendors. An artisan coffee roaster offers fair trade organic locally roasted coffee. The market is situated in the town's Park and Ride, so parking is never a problem. It makes for a great family activity since it is adjacent to a large, new playground and a beautiful library. The market hosts weekly free music events between 10-12 and shaded seating is available. Once a month, the market plans some type of event featuring local merchants or artisans.
