We're lucky to have a farmers market in our community. Residents and visitors have the opportunity to purchase fresh quality vegetables and fruits that are most time much less expensive than grocery stores. In todays economy that says alot. It also gives a lot of us that work during the week to catch up on some of the "county news". It's great to see people and just sit and visit.

I grow a large assortment of veggies & produce and love suppporting other'a that do the same to help our own county and people .

I love the fact we have farmers that carry/sell Organic "veggies". Thank you.

Our market may be a small community market but their produce and merchandise are great. What even makes it even better the vendors are our very own local community and farmers. We as a community patronize our market so that we may help each other.

It is very important to the community to be able to purchase fresh vegetables that are freshly grown that are good for our health and also to be able to putchase organic vegetables from Mr. John Fipps.

The Market is not just a place to buy the freshest fruits and veggies. It's a place where lives are shared and where caring is expressed through friendly smiles and hearty laughter that is heard each market day. Our local Farmers Market helps to connect the small farmer to the consumers who use his/her products in a way that would not otherwise be so easily accomplished. The vendors and their customers become more than just salesman and customer; they become friends. They are able to join forces to provide the residents of our area with fresher and healthier foods, information, education, and guidance. Our Farmers Market is truly one of the shining stars of our community!!

Columbus County has the most dedicated farmers that go the extra mile for their community. They not only bring the freshest produce (most dug or picked that morning), but also are there to answer any questions, give recipes, etc. They also welcome the young children (via school tours) to teach them how the produce is grown, by feeling and seeing the actual produce on the farms. They want to make sure our agricultural heritage lives on---- & teach all generations the value of healthy nutrition and let them know that soil does not come naturally from Wal-mart and veggies are not grown in grocery stores! Many young ones will develop healthy eating habits if we start early. They need to know that the taste of a fresh vegetable or fruit is amazing compared to what you get at a grocery store where it may have traveled for weeks or been frozen before putting on a shelf. Our Farmers Market is making a difference one person at a time........a true grass roots effort.

The Columbus County Farmers' Market feeds our community in so many ways. Along with healing fresh produce, lovingly prepared breads/pickles/honey/jams and exquisite handcrafted items - the CCFM also offers a gathering place of fellowship and hope.

Columbus County Community Farmers Market has become a great community gathering place every Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday, May through December. Community is more than just part of the Farmers Market name. The vendors/farmers are actively involved in their community promoting good nutrition, healthy lifestyles and the farm way of life! Everyone from the youngest child to the oldest senior enjoy the Market and the fresh, locally grow fruits and vegetables!

It's our county's grassroots alternative to the standard grocery market. Garden fresh produce, local honey, and more. We should support our local small farmers and enjoy healthier food in return.
