We've been indulging in Backbone's awesome veggies since 2001. It's a conscious decision to eat better, eat local which they make so easy to do! Our family has grown along with theirs and I love the personal connection.

The shares are a great size with lots of variety. When they slip something new in (kohlrabi, who knew it was so good?) Katherine always makes sure to provide a few tips on preparing it. I love that my carrots come in rainbow colors along with the salad mixes! It's fun to get a little extra herbs now and again to really add some pop to my latest dish. I know I am getting THE freshest produce possible as it was picked within a few days of pickup.

Backbone is just an all around feel good story. It's more than just the great organic food, it's an extended family of like minded people that care about what I put on my plate.

I'm not sure where to start, but Backbone is a fantastic place -- not only in the food that springs (or is pulled) from its land, but also because of the talented and hardworking crew that tend and inhabit its environs. We have been members for 3 years, and once I figured out how to process a lot of cabbage, our family has devoured each share. The variety is perfect, and from the garlic scapes of late spring (divine) to the potatoes of fall (earthly), each crop appears to be the end product of some magical process (i.e. planning, hard work, good humor). And if anything will bring me to the point of loving beets (yes, I am one of those people), it will surely involve the crop I just received in our latest share.
