We visited Night Sky Farm in March 2009. We had arranged a tour with Jennifer, the cheese maker and general manager of the farm. I highly recommend not only all varieties of cheese if you like goat cheese but also recommend that you take a tour of the farm for a great educational experience.

Jennifer is a great communicator and knows her farm and her goats really well. The tour included getting to know her managing of the goats, breeding efforts, and the care and comitment that she puts into it. She uses rotational grazing to feed her goats, a natural and more sustainable production system that gives her the milk quality she needs for the goat cheeses. Then, we were given a tour of the cheese making facility, including the milking parlor. Again, Jennifer showed with enthusiasm and detail the process, the regulatory requirements, and finally the steps in the cheese making process. Of course, all of this was was topped with a superb cheese tasting experience. All was enhance by her warm welcome and the obvious dedication to her farm. The final product for sure reflects what she puts into it!!

And....I have not mentioned the best part: we were lucky to not only have the tour but to arrive on a day when 3 kids were born!! An inspiring event on its own. We spent 3 hours with her and enjoy every minute. We were interested mostly in the goat operation but Jennifer and family also also have chickens, turkeys, peakocks, and a vegetable garden!

I would recommend that if you are interested in a family production system that produces food in a sustainable manner you visit this farm. I specially recommend that you take your family so that the youngest among us get to experience and learn where out food comes from. And then later....you can buy their cheese on line!

Night Sky Farms cheese is out of this world.. On my visit (which has been several times).l have tasted and enjoyed many types of cheese, which are all great . My 2 that l love the most are cranberry and walnut chevre, during the winter and the blueberry in the summer. The farm is wonderful to visit. The milking facility is so well taken care of and you are able to see the operation from goat to cheese right before your eyes. The goats are very well taken care of and are all very friendly. The vegetable garden is so old world charm. You can just smell the fresh herbs. l would definitely keep coming back to buy my cheeses. Keep making that great cheese .

I visited the dairy farm with a friend and was able to see the operation from goat to cheese. The goats are gorgeous, personable and well cared for like the rest of the animals there. The farm is enchanting with a vegetable garden in the shaped of a tree! The farm also includes a beautiful new barn, milking facilities and cheese room. The cheese was simply wonderful. Fresh chevre with home grown herbs incorporated like basil, dill, Herbs de Provence and oh, the blueberry! I especially enjoyed the hard cheeses; "night sky" almost like Swiss but no holes and the cheddar, both were terrific. I indulged in the Feta as well and I am so glad I did, it too was marvelous ; ). I will definitely be visiting Jennifer again. I wish her many moons of prosperity in her goat cheese endeavors!!!
