Love the CHEESE! one of the vendors has the best cheeses. The price is reasonable too. Add bonus, the produce vendors always have great fruit & veggies.

Park Forest is a small suburb of Chicago that has always been on the cutting edge. It was initially developed as the first planned community giving WWII veterans a safe, affordable, family community in which to raise their families. It has been the first community of it's kind to have it's own theater and center for performing arts, the first symphony orchestra which later evolved into the Illinois Philharmonic and the first community to welcome and encourage diversity of its people. In addition, here in Park Forest we have been "green" long before it became the trendy thing to do. And boy are we glad it is a trend. Back in the 1970's many families drove their recyclabes to a community center, and now for many years we have had curb side recycling that actually makes a profit for the community. Others can learn from us!! The Farmers Market in Park Forest has been in full swing for decades and provides the village and surrounding communities with the fruits of labor of many local farmers and growers. What better way to eat healthy and support our local growers!

I like to support Farmer's Markets when and where I can. Since I used to live in Park Forest, I feel strongly about it's own Farmer's Market.

The Park Forest farmer's market is only a mile from our house so we are able to walk or ride bikes to it. They have a variety of food & non-food items from near by farmers or businesses. It also gives us an opportunity to check out the Centre and support the local businesses there as well.

I've been going to my Park Forest Farmers Market for over 30 years now. I love it. The produce is terrific and comes from close-by farms. It is picked the day before the market -- you can't much fresher than that. There are wonderful fresh-picked fruits that come in from MIchigan, as well. And the prices are always right.
Shopping at my Farmer's Market is always a pleasure. The farmers are very nice, friendly and helpful. Invariably, I bump into someone I know. It's a very pleasurable experience all the way around. I can't say enough -- I highly recommend your local Farmer's Market for all the reasons I've stated and more!

to the previous poster, that's a bit unfair, given that there's nothing really "in season" for local growers to sell yet. if you're going to a farmers' market on June 6 and they are selling tomatos, where do you think they came from? certainly not grown outside, in the Park Forest area. they're coming from greenhouses or from hundreds of miles away. as a local grower, i get put-off by peoples' attitudes about what should be available out of season. given the current economy, vendors aren't going to spend the time and money to appear at a market if they have little to sell.
