A rootin' tootin' good time is to be had by all who visit, Sue Golden's, Golden Farm. With mountain views as far as the eye can see and tall lean pine trees you automatically get in the down to earth farmer's mood, easy goin', and ready to enjoy the simple yet miraculous things in life. You can interact with the baby goats, as they are so sweet, and might welcome you with back flips and puppy dog eyes. Listening to them suckle on their bottle is enough cuteness to last a lifetime. Virginia, the farm's calf is always looking for a new friend and my personal favorite is jivin' with the turkeys. I met Sue, the captain of this agriculture ship because she is always eager and willing to get involved with the community, she is forever ready to provide and to support local needs. I really enjoy the fact that she's so environmentally conscience. She goes out of her way to cut back on some of the waste that's had in restaurants, while allowing her pig's to eat better than me! If you ever get the chance to meet Sue and she happens to have some of her pork and beef meatballs on her, eat one!!! They're amazing!

At Cristina's Cafe we have thoroughly enjoyed having Golden Farms as one our local business partners. We use her ground beef to make "Golden" burgers & Mexican albondigas (meatballs). Her beef bones make excellent French Onion Soup. Last week we used her ground pork to make Chiles en Nogada (traditional Mexican stuffed peppers). YUM YUM

Having visited her farm, we know that all of the animals are well taken care of!

I am most vegetarian. However, when I do eat meat I want to know it comes from a happy cow. I have been to Sues farm witnessed her happy animals, and even feed them. Her meats are3 sweet and tender. I have a clear conconsious in knowing that the animals were well treated, respected and cared for.

Do you enjoy the meats you buy at Food Lion or Safeway or Giant? Try some of Golden Farm's meats. You'll realize that there is something missing from the big food store meats - flavor being one of the big ones. Naturally raised meat has a texture and a depth of flavor that is hard to find. Free ranged chickens are unbeatable. Big, thick cuts of beef from Golden Farm are rich and exquisite. Try a huge pork roast for your next family gathering or party.

Sue Golden will make any effort to get you what you are looking for, she will deliver, and she'll advise you on how to prepare her meats.

I have been living off of Golden Farm meats for months. I've had a number of different cuts of beef and pork, chickens, chicken and turkey eggs. All of it is terrific. I could not recommend it higher.

We had a few friends over for dinner on Friday night and tried out the pork from Sue's farm. We grilled the bratwurst, loin and pork chops and decided they were really good! I especially liked the pork chops, and the bratwurst were a huge hit as well (no small compliment when there's a bunch of Germans in the crowd :-)

She also sells "happy" beef and lamb, plus eggs from her chickens, ducks and turkeys, and will have turkey at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We visited the farm yesterday, and had a wonderful time.

WOW, as someone who has not been to, many farms, Golden Farm is a great and fun experience. Upon entering the gate, if the animals are not already greeting you warmly, the beautiful mountain views and wonderfully fresh air will.

Once at the farm house, Ms. Golden does an exceptional job of welcoming, educating and entertaining one about farming. Not only does she teach about free ranging, and feeding, but visitors can experience as much hands on with the animals and farm as they care to. And, if it happens to be a warm day, and you need to take a break from farming, just a short walk away is a great, and beautiful place to take a refreshing dip in Cedar Creek.

After experiencing Golden Farms delicious meat products one need not return to the local grocery store just head back to Golden Farm!

As the proprietor of the oldest continuosly operating general store in Virginia, its important to provide the finest quality meat products and veggies for my customers. As a mom and home maker, its critical to serve the finest and healthiest meals to my family. The meats and veggies that I get from Golden Farm exceed my expectations on both counts. Natural, free ranging lamb, pork and beef, as well as naturally grown vegtables, are availible by calling Golden Farm, at the Wayside Inn Farmers' Market in Middletown,VA , at Baker's Store in Mt. Olive, VA or online. You won't be disappointed!

A beautifull setting with wide open spaces and free ranging livestock. Wilbur and his 4 buddies will win your heart. Makes you wonder why we don't have pigs for pets more and other animals less. Very smart and very affectionate.Lots of beautifull beef on the hoof as well as a variety of chickens, turkeys and ducks. The views are from a picture book! The best produce and meats you can buy anywhere. Natural food grown in natural environment. This is a great example of a Green farm...nothing goes to waste. There are even a couple of rabbits to pet. The nice thing is the owner is as nice as the farm and she sells her products on line as well as delivers to the DC area.

Golden Farm is a great place to visit with your kids. Watch the cows follow farmer Sue Golden like ducklings waddling after their Mom. Collect eggs laid by heirloom chickens. Feed the lambs. And try not to get too attached to the animals, because the meat produced by this farm is the freshest and tastiest you'll find anywhere.
