We drive from center of Jax each week to shop here! Delicious local produce and honest farmers. REAL LOCAL farmers at every booth here. No resalers, no "farmer pozers", no produce with stickers! Only garden fresh, seasonal produce picked that morning. My only complaint is that there are limited tomatoes to buy here though as I guess they are tough to grow up here on a commercial scale??? Anyways, it doesn't get any fresher than this in JAX. I can support local farmers AND get free gardening advice too- how awesome! They have a great cheese vendor and free range meat here too but you have to order ahead (I have learned the hard way!). Also, be sure to buy the amazing locally blended tea and beautiful handcrafted shea butter soap and artisan breads while you are there too! This place is worth the drive out!

I love this market! It is so quaint and has great products with great prices. The farmers/artisans are all very nice and I love being able to go to this market and support them. It is so much better than the Jacksonville Farmers Market where the vendors cannot even answer questions about where their produce came from.

great veggies, fruits, flowers, coffee, bread, a variety of personal items, pet treats, honey, fish, meat, eggs, a variety of awesome prepared foods, snacks, tea, music, crafts n jewelry. we have our regular vendors that have become friends and those who share their time with other markets. then there are the"people." those that bring their wears and those come to buy, browse, socialize and be in a green environment.

I grew up going to a Farmer's Market in my hometown, Yellow Springs, Ohio. I looked for the first two years in Jax for a market the compared to home...one with fresh fruits/veggies, organic meat and dairy, arts and crafts, music, and a small town feel. That is what the Beaches Green Market offers...a small town feel.

The produce is fresh and extremely tasty. The organic gardeners are very experienced and helpful and generous about sharing their knowledge. Buying locally means the food lasts longer, tastes better, and hasn't used as many fossil fuels to arrive on my table.

great community market that also hosts various green workshops and gives the community a chance to be involved with the community garden. 2 blocks from the ocean and on the outskirts of a local's favorite park-it just doesn't get any better than this!

There's been a wealth of knowledge passed on to the public from this market, not to mention the awesome food!!! It's also next to our community garden which serves as a learning tool for the visitors at the market. Gretchen and Jonathan have done an awesome job and put in so many hours. They are truly dedicated to informing the public about locally grown food, organic food, pesticide, hormone-free and the environment. This market has brought together not only people from the nearby beaches but in town and even from St. Augustine and Amelia Island. It's not only about the food, the wealth of knowledge but bringing people together and they've accomplished that. Thanks to all that have helped make this market what it is today. Linda Gibson

I support the Beaches Green Market because it is all around a fantastic addition for the local community. Everyone wins with this market, farmers, shoppers, local artists, even people who don't visit the market get to enjoy the sights of tents, people and food as they drive by. The market has also harbored the creation of a community garden right next door. What could be better than that?

It is so wonderful to be able to pick up local FRESH fruits and veggies. I like it that I can only get what is seasonal - I'm never quite sure what that's going to be, so my Saturday shopping dictates what I'll eat for the next week. One thing that I know will be consistent - the freshness and flavor. Thank you to the growers for all their efforts!

How can you not? The food is incredibly fresh and varied and is not the "same old, same old" as you find at most markets. In addition, the vendors are very knowledgable and eager to share information regarding nutrition and preperation so that the texture and flavor are optimal. It is such a pleasure to know the source of your food and how it was grown. Since the market opened, the only reason I go to a traditional grocery story is for dry goods.

It is a wonderful place to get outside, meet your fellow locavores, help the local farmer and get great food. I love getting to chat with the farmers and see what is going on with them personally and on the farm, looking forward to the seasonal fruits & veggies. There is live music, jewelry/pottery, seafood, kettle corn/shaved ice, homemade cheese, breads, herb plants, local businesses, the list goes on (plus I can't wait to see who will be there next). They even offer farming classes. The people who run the market really put a lot of time into the market and making sure it is locally grown as well as keeping us informed of what is going on with produce/food in general (at our grocers). One of the more unique/awesome things is they have created a community garden where we can grow our own food locally/organically and our weekly contributions and vendors that come help support this community garden! Thanks Gretchen for putting an awesome market out there and educating us as well as the community. :)

The Beaches Green Market not only provides the Beaches area with super-fabulous product, it also has afforded us a greater sense of community togetherness, in a city that is increasingly suburbanized and cloistered. I look forward to every Saturday afternoon, because you never know who you'll run into there. Gretchen and Jonathan (and all the folks) have really brought a positive influence to a very conservative and bit repressed county. The market has inspired others in Jacksonville to dare to step outside the Big Grocery Box!
