I have lived in McKinney for a long time and I go to the Farmer's Market on occasion to see what is new, but I am usually disappointed. Parking is ridiculous and those that hit/scrape/bump YOUR car seem to consider it part of the 'experience' and leave without a note or insurance info.

Most of the Vendors I have met there are Sales People and you have to 'stroll' around the place to find a true Farmer.

Terrific atmosphere under the trees among the buildings of our historic village. It's almost like going back in time, except early McKinney settlers didn't have the gourmet options we have. Great variety, friendly people, it's the perfect Saturday morning outing.

The Historic Downtown McKinney Farmers' Market provides high quality "locally grown" produce, dairy products, meat and poultry that my family depends on. There is a closer market but it's not nearly as good. The people at McKinney market are knowledgeable, helpful, and fun. My vote goes to McKinney!

I have lived in mckinney all 23 years of my life and I am now married and my husband serves in the navy so we travel alot. When we come home though I always go back to downtown mckinney and on Saturdays my mother & I get up and head to the farmers market! I have lived in 4 different states now and not one had a market like the mckinney one! It's home in mckinney, tx and I will always keep coming back!

If you eat your veggies, you will be strong and fit. But who cares about that?! This is Texas, dad-gummit. I care about sticky buns, dog treats, bacon-wrapped dates, sweet salsa, hot salsa, homemade pasta noodles, mmm mmm delicious. Mckinney Farmers market is right up my alley. (But if you go, watch out, there are a LOT of vegetables)

I think McKinney residents and business owners are trying extremely hard to preserve downtown McKinney. I believe they are doing an awful lot for McKinney with little, if any help from the city fathers. We have some very determined people doing the best they can and they deserve support from their community.

The McKinney Farmers Market offers residents of North Texas fresh, organic produce - all grown with in a few miles of the market itself. There is also outstanding meat and eggs (grass fed/free range) from Rehoboth Farms - available with a healthy does of cooking tips from owner, Robert Hutchins. Hand made soaps, jewelry, pasta, local olive oil, puppy treats, breakfast from Cafe Malaga's booth, live music - so much to see and do. It's a wonderful place to spend a Saturday morning.

McKinney's Farmers' Market at Chestnut Square is the best I have seen in 30 years! The venue is interesting, enjoyable, easy to navigate on foot, and feels like a small village where people gather to buy and trade farm fresh food. Unlike some venues where you walk on asphalt or concrete, which can feel like a warehouse or flea market, Chestnut Square offers a historic, delightful experience for all of your senses, especially when a dutch oven cooking demonstration creates a mulitude of delicious fresh cooked food smells with a selection of today's market vegetables, meats, and fresh eggs.

It keeps the small town atmosphere in a setting that is most befitting. Mc Kinney has grown so rapidily that we forget sometimes what a small town it started out as being. With so many modern stores replacing the old time ones the farmers market brings back the best. Too bad that it ends in October, just to let us forget about all of the stress on the outside.

This little Farmers Market surprised me. It's small with great parking but the dealers there has an array of goodies.
