As a local food phobic... I say this is the best market around. There is such an abundance of fresh, organic, local food that the problem becomes how much can I eat in a week. Picking and choosing is difficult with the abundance of choices. Everything from Hall's corn (the best ever) to local grass fed beef and free range chicken. The food scene is one of Traverse City area's greatest assets and this market is a major player. It is also the social "happening" on Saturday mornings...a perfect walk downtown. The other great aspect is anticipating as the different crops come in...oh...asparagus should be in this week...when will the corn come in? Great fun!

This market has the best produce, best variety all year long. We look forward to visiting the market every time we travel to Traverse City. Even late in October there's always a huge selection!

This long standing farmers market provides a vital connection between the local farmers and residents for providing healthy fresh food. ItÂ?s a sweet Sat morning walking down the rows of fruits, vegetables, flowers, sweet treats and the occasional locally made dog crackers. Sara Hardy Farmers Market is next to the bay and even on a hot day breezes cool the moving crowds through out the market. There are sounds of people buying and selling. Old friends and neighbors meet up by surprise and chat about the latest doings. Well behaved dogs stay close to their masterÂ?s sides as they push though the busy market rows. Ducks that gather on the river banks sometimes wander to the market edge to the amusement of kids and passers by. Of course these sights, sounds and smells are centuries old and oh so sweet in the virtual age. Sara Hardy Farmers Market provides a rich community gathering place that satisfies heart, body and soul.

This market offers the best organic/locally grown foods to our community! Year after year many of the same farmers are participating and often several generations. This market also works hard to educate and assist families locally. They also take food coupons for persons that are struggling, offering them far better choices than they'd get at a box grocery store. Its also FUN to see everyone and exchange food ideas!

There is such a nice atmosphere & such good produce, flowers & baked goods. Lovely place to be on a Sat. morning, by the river, with all the locals. An easy way to shop local & keep the small farms thriving.

Not only eating more healthily and supporting local growers, but cutting down on truck traffic on inter- state highways across the country

It's a great way to support our local farmers and they have a wide variety of fresh fruits and veggies. The farmers are always friendly and it is a nice way to spend some quiet family time on any given Saturday. Plus it is nice that I don't have to go far to find fresh produce.

They participate in "project fresh" and have the friendliest farmers around selling their goods. Never have any problems when I go there. They are there to help the people not make a "profit". They have the freshest fruits and vegetables around.
