The Dunham's don't brag themselves up...so let me do it for them. In Italy (Tierra Madre) -- DC (on Capital Hill) -- NYC (HBO specials) -- lil' ol' Grinnell, Iowa --they are sought after. Their story, philosophy and great tasting food are desired and they are commissioned to share them.

You may be looking for good food, delivered weekly with a newsletter of info, but you are getting a big deal. They are fresh and famous. The farm, (open to all on Labor Day and other farm potlucks), has been in the family for over 160 years, but their thinking, planning and growing is fresh.

Their specialties are delicious produce and heirloom veggies. Freshness, multi-stage coolers for controlled storage, impeccable packing and the best seeds they can get make the food great. You can expect to see a dozen varieties of tomatoes and garlic, a half dozen types of potatoes and peppers, the best greens you've (n)ever tasted and more. Fruits taste like candy, beef is so rich it's purple, and other foods available during the season.

Grinnell Heritage Farm is a CSA provider first, so, no matter what the weather, the boxes are abundant (and we've been there flood to drought). Never tried CSA? You'll be impressed. Changing to GHF? You'll be bowled over.

Andy and Melissa run an impressive operation and are the epitome of a "family farm." Andy's family has owned the land for over 100 years. His aunt helps work the farm. They have three kids who will grow up there. They produce a lot of food and have a nice variety of produce. The weather has not been kind the last couple of years and they've still managed to put together impressive csa boxes. They treat their workers well and are generous toward the community. We don't live there any more and I miss them.

The Dunham Family run a beautiful, certified organic farm in Grinnell, Iowa. They care about their farmland, the food they grow, the animals and their CSA customers. They have integrity and passion.

Our decision to join this CSA stems from trying their produce at the Des Moines Farmers Market. We had been looking for organic produce and were so impressed with not only their produce but also with their philosophy of taking care of the land. We have been surprised at how much produce we actually receive no matter what the weather hands them! We have been able visit the farm on many occasions and witness what is involved in providing us with the food. We have been involved in some harvesting of the different types of produce and been to some amazing potlucks which are offered as a part of CSA membership. Andy and Melissa are very hard working dedicated people. We also feel like we are members of their family. This will be our 4th year as CSA members and look forward to delicious produce and learning about new and different ways to enjoy it. Thank you Andy and Melissa!!

This CSA gives you so much more than a box full of delicious farm fresh veggies every week. (Brussel sprouts, kale, heirloom tomatoes and sweet potatoes are just a few of my favorites!) With opportunities to connect with and even work on the land of this family-operated farm throughout the year, you become part of the family, not just a shareholder. Farmers Andy and Melissa Dunham are committed to creating a thriving family farm in central Iowa and shareholders benefit from their efforts! Don't hesitate to become a shareholder/a part of the family.
