I met Micah and Bethany in 2012, when they gave me a box of fresh veggies equal to three hours of work. It was my first stint as a substitute work share. "Don't worry about working just yet," they said, "You can just come in in the spring." I was amazed at the produce (a giant bag of spinach!), the flexibility, the generosity, and my first-ever rutabaga.
In the years since, I've become a regular work share at Plowshare. And now I work as the full-time help. I see how Bethany and Micah live with a high standard of generosity. They give of themselves, and they give out only the finest food. If vegetables have a blemish, we almost never send them out to CSA. CSA members receive only "firsts" -- the best of the produce we've grown. The food is fresh, vibrant, and bountiful. And you can rest knowing that your food is grown with care for the earth and for people. If you want to support a small, family farm rooted that's in love, this is the place.

The produce is always fresh and beautiful. Bethany and Micah are so very kind and helpful.
It is a wonderful experience to be a part of promoting local agriculture and we are grateful to them for all their hard work to bring these delicious and healthy vegetables to us.

My husband and I have been Plowshare CSA members for many years. This summer I was fortunate to volunteer at the farm. What an eye-opening experience! I wish all CSA members could spend several days at the farm to better understand the care and dedication that goes into growing their vegetables. AMAZING!
Micha and Bethany are exceptional folks and a great team. Spending time at the farm has been a very rewarding experience. I highly recommend Plowshare for beautiful and delicious vegetables.

We are a husband and wife in our 2nd year with Plowshare. The half share suits us well as we also have a garden of our own. I found Plowshare on Localharvest.org and visited on a distribution day the year prior to inspect the quality and quantity of organic produce. We switched our CSA to Plowshare the following year and are absolutely thrilled with the food. Growing food of our own, we are amazed by the quality of the vegetables. Every pick up I say to myself, "How do they do it!" I agree with the other comments that the food is picture perfect and that pick up day is the highlight of the week! I wish we had done this when our kids were still at home. If you are a family with children, this CSA could be the greatest gift that you could give them: Great food at a great price and an absolutely wonderful family with young children living a life on the farm. What a blessing to have families dedicated to bringing safe, quality food to our tables! Thank you Bethany and Micah!

I've been a CSA member with Plowshare for going on five years. I find Plowshare to have a better variety of vegetables than other CSAs to which I was a member. The cost is reasonable as well. The vegetables are beautiful, and there are times when you can purchase additional items. The family that runs Plowshare is just lovely, easy to work with, and at the end of the day I think liking the people you buy from and seeing a young family prosper at doing this work is an added bonus.
I highly recommend!

Our family has participated in several CSAs over the last 13 years and we LOVE Micah and Bethany's produce almost as much as we love THEM! The vegetables are of outstanding quality and freshness and just being around Micah and Bethany makes a day so much better. We see this as an investment in the health of our children, us and our good, green earth. The richness of relationship with this family is simply the icing on the delicious cake.

Sure you want your vegetables to be fresh and nutritious, but nothing beats the rich, variegated leaves of rainbow chard next to heirloom tomatoes and turnips the color of large pearls. Plowshare vegetables are just beautiful. They are the vegetables that are photographed to represent vegetables in order to get you to want to eat them. And you will. You'll want to eat things you never dreamed you'd like, as well as all the regularly delicious vegetables you've always loved.

Micah and Bethany at Plowshare Produce have been my farmers for several years; they are friendly and dedicated to environmentally and health conscious farming. Picking up my CSA share makes my day! Their half share is the perfect amount of fresh vegetables for one veggie-loving person.

This is our 8th season with Plowshare, and we love every part! The vegetables are beautiful and delicious, the selection is varied and tasty, it's a delight to come and pick up the week's share and chat with Bethany and Micah and the other shareholders. The Spicher Schonbergs cultivate their vegetables and their community of shareholders with the same thoughtful, generous care and expertise. We cannot recommend them enough!
