I have done lots of research into CSAs and there is no doubt that Know Your Farms is the one for us. They are very economic, have flexible terms and the best customer service ever! We are getting great veggies from local farmers and honestly the small share is as much as 2 of us can eat in a week. Anytime I had a question, they responded immediately. I could not be happier about joining a CSA and especially the fact that it was KYF. I recommend them to anyone considering a CSA. You can go in for 4 weeks at a really reasonable price and try it out. Believe me, you will be hooked. Thanks KYF for all you do!

I joined Know Your Farms at the end of this summer, and I am a devoted new member! The produce has been delicious, lots of variety and new things to try. I also get eggs with my share, which have also been consistently fresh and much larger than your average grocery store egg. I order meat through Know Your Farms most weeks, and it has been the best I've ever had. Really enjoyed the meats from Grateful Growers, T&D, Wild Turkey Farms, Bame, and more. Know Your Farms has a great group of farms involved, and pick-up/ordering is easy and convenient. They also put a farm tour on, which is really interesting and helps connect you with your local farmers & food sources. It's a CSA, so obviously you can't pick your own produce each week - go to a farmer's market if you have to have something specific. But the variety and quality is frankly so good that I rarely find myself lacking something to eat for the week. Join us!

We are very disappointed in our CSA box selection. End of Aug and we get one or two little tomatoes, no melons and no zucchini. Seriously? No lettuce, no peaches. If I wanted garlic and teeny tiny yellow squash, I'd go to Harris Teeter. For what we are spending, we expected more in season fruits and veggies.

I very much enjoy the Know Your Farms CSA! Part of the fun of being in a CSA is that you participate in the farmers' experience; if they have a good month, you have a good month. If there's a drought, you might get teeny tomatoes. If you want to get peaches whenever you want peaches, then go buy them at Harris Teeter, as you said. We've been members of the KYF CSA for over a year now, and recommend it to others. Not only are you helping local farmers (which is really the point, isnt it?), but you are also getting a little excitement about "what are we going to get this week?". Sometimes it's "teeny tomatoes", sometimes it's a bumper crop of Kale or unusual foods like icicle radishes. I feel that if you want to exactly what you expect, seasonal or not, then maybe CSA is not for you. On the other hand, if you want the pleasure and excitement of discovering new and sometimes unusual produce delivered every week (or sometimes not!), plus the good feeling of helping local farms, then CSA is perfect!!

I've been a member of several CSAs, and Know Your Farms is unique for several reasons.

First, it offers a variety of share sizes at reasonable prices, particularly for single folks or couples (of which I am one). I don't need a giant box of produce every week, and I appreciate a CSA that offers a smaller size. Second, the CSA is made up of multiple farms, so there's always a great variety of produce, and it's also available year round! (This is amazing. I love a year-round CSA.)

Finally, I love the flexibility that allows you to sign up for the CSA at any point during the season. You can purchase a share for a pro-rated amount at any point, so you don't have to worry if you've discovered the CSA a week or two late.

Know Your Farms has some other great initiatives, such as farm work days and tours and workplace wellness programs, all of which I fully support. I've been very pleased with the quality of my produce this season, and I highly recommend Know Your Farms to anyone else looking for a great, affordable CSA.
