We were on our way to Whole Foods Market, when we came upon Farmer John's roadside stand.

We hoarded up on his spring mix greens which were $3 for a large gallon size ziplock bag - he said just pile as much as we could into the bag and it's $3.

We must have piled in what would have cost us $20+ at Whole Foods into 3 large ziplock bags!!

And we got 2 dozen of his farm fresh eggs...I don't think I ever seen such orange yolks as these...they must be happy and healthy chickens!!!

If you're around Doylestown, stop by and pile in the spring mix greens!!!

Not all CSA's are created equal. What makes me feel extremely welcome on the Palovchak's farm property are the owners Gail and John. They put the member/customers first. This is apparent as you pull into the park area, they provide a large herb cutting garden. The trust they instill in sharing that space speaks volumes. Talk about providing freshness to their valued customers!

As a master gardener I am thoroughly impressed with John and Gail's natural approach to farming. They use grass clippings as mulch and weed barrier. Laying the grass between the plantings is labor intensive work that only true honest farmesr finds worth while. If they notice blossom rot or mold forming on some plantings that might compromise the health of the crop John and Gail pull the infected plantings to prevent the issue from spreading rather than using harmful sprays.

Thank you John and Gail for keeping it real. I love your ethical approach in the way you farm!

My husband and I have participated in this CSA for two years and fully expect to continue with our half-share. The vegetables are wonderfully fresh and delicious. The variety is great - we have had a wonderful time learning to use veggies that were previously unfamiliar to us and we have yet to meet one we haven't liked. We are also delighted with the 7-week Fall/Winter Extension option where we get an abundance of greens, root vegetables and more.

The Palovchak's have created a wonderful CSA community and their efforts are enjoyed and appreciated by many. We highly recommend joining this local resource.

Five stars is not enough. Gail, John and Yvonne are simply wonderful people who offer an amazing abundance of fresh, oprganic food and plenty of advice on how to best use and enjoy it.

I keep saying over and over, the carrots you think you enjoy from those cello bags that traveled thousands of miles and were picked who knows when are NOTHING like the joy of eating sweet, savory and amazing carrots that were picked that moringing and only traveled about 2 miles!

Being a CSA member makes me feel good not only for my health and well being, but for the community I love and live in. As I got to know the Palovchak's over the course of last year I feel as if I have made new friends and look forward to seeing them each week and chatting about the pick and what else is happening around the area!

If you are in the Doylestown area, don't think twice...just do it and join. I'd guarantee you will feel like you are making a positive impact and difference on many many levels.

This was my first year doing a CSA and I couldn't say enough wonderful things about Palovchak's! It was so exciting to see what was available each week. They always had a great selection of high quality, clean, beautiful produce. We are a family of 3, my daughter only 18months, and we did the half share. We had plenty of produce to last us each week (and some weeks enough extra to freeze for winter). John, Gail and Yvonne are friendly and welcoming. It is such a joy to know the farmers who are producing the food that we eat. I signed up for the winter share. I tell everyone I know about this local jewel and plan to be back year after year!

Our family's experience with Palovchak's Produce couldn't have been better. Each week we were amazed by the quantity, quality, and variety of the produce available. We still have plenty of frozen veggies from the summer/fall harvest and it's already late January! From staples like carrots to unusual items like popping corn on the cob, the farm covered all of our vegetable needs for the growing season and then some.

It's so nice to be able to talk to the people growing your food. I feel really good to know that my family is truly eating local foods grown using sustainable and environmentally conscious methods.

We are all looking forward to next season.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Palovchak's Produce. The produces was always clean, fresh and plentiful.

Some of the things I really liked were the old standbys. I didn't know that carrots could taste so good. The strawberries and blackberries were to die for...I often ate them all before I arrived home with my stash of produce! And it was so much fun trying new foods, much that I had never heard of before. When I didn't know what to do with the new food, Gail was always ready with a suggestion or recipe.

Also fun was receiving such treats as popcorn on the cob and fresh flowers, including sunflowers, and pumpkins for carving. They had a never-ending supply of fresh herbs, all I had to do was ask.

John and Gail are delightful. They treat everybody as family. On cold fall days they were ready with hot coffee and a friendly chat. My experience was wonderful. I can hardly wait for next year.

Our family was so happy with everything we got this past season. This was our first experience with a CSA and it was wonderful. We tried vegetables that we never had before and eat more vegetables then we usually do. Gail and John are also very nice and great at giving you recipe ideas. We are looking forward to the 2011 season.

I cannot stress enough how my family and extended family LOVED this experience. The Palovchak's are a warm, patient and welcoming family. For my immediate family, the direct experience of going to the farm & visiting the Palovchaks was a huge hit. Each week my boys (2 & 5) came to the farm with me to explore and learn about something new. My family learned about new foods and recipes. We cooked, canned (and even pickled okra!) and then shared our new recipes with cousins and grandparents. The food was fresh, clean and of wonderful quality. The fun, the memories and the new family traditions we made are priceless!

Thank you John & Gail!

Absolutely recommend this CSA! Gail and John are lovely, wonderful people who provided delicious, fresh crops all season long. From a wide variety of greens to squash, corn, onions, brussel sprouts, herbs, potatoes, berries and more, I was thrilled with my share each and every week. In fact, there were weeks that I had too much and couldn't finish it all before picking up a new share. Not only did we enjoy delicious vegetables that tasted even better since they were harvested THAT MORNING, I learned about new vegetables that I loved - never had kholrabi or mustard greens before and can't wait to get them again! I am so happy to support the local farmers while receiving fresh, naturally-grown vegetables and fruit every week. I can't rave about Palovchak's enough and can't wait for the next season to start! Thanks Gail and John!

From cheddar broccoli to popcorn, there was always something exciting awaiting our weekely visits to the farm. This was our first expeience with a CSA and it couldn't have been more friendly and positive. The produce was amazingly fresh and so clean. We got to try many vegetables that were new to us and it was fun experimenting. Helpful advise was always on hand. Looking forward to Spring.

My husband and I were truly impressed with the variety, quantity, and most importantly, the quality of fresh produce that came from Gail and John's farm this year. As a previous reviewer noted, I learned about veggies I never heard of and learned how to cook them. We experienced some of the most exciting soups this fall including butternut squash, cauliflower blue cheese, and potato leak. Gail's mom, another friendly face at the farm, told me to check out the potato soup, and she was right: it was wonderful! We found this and many other great recipes in a book John recommended called From Asparagus to Zucchini. I credit this CSA experience with my husband actually calling me a cook. My husband's favorites were the squash and brussel sprouts, and mine were the arugula and sweet potatoes. Both of us wowed our family and friends with popcorn right from the cob. My 14-month old son ate lots of veggies including the carrots, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach and on and on. Yes, we saved lots of money going the CSA route with Palvochak's, but even more valuable to us was the health benefit--you just can't beat the full-flavored, nutrient-rich, local produce we enjoyed so much this year. We are looking forward to many fall and winter harvests ahead. Thanks John and Gail for all your hard work!

As a Holistic Health Counselor & Massage Therapist, I am always on the lookout for organic and locally grown produce. I was so happy to find such a treasure as the Palovchak's so close to home. Gail, John and Yvonne, Gail's Mom, are always so very helpful and have great energy. The quality of the fruits and vegetables is superior. It is so wonderful to eat fresh, organic veggies and fruits and not have to worry about how long there were sitting on the shelf in the supermarket or how long they were in transit.

I have a half share which is a huge amount of food. I promise you will be very happy with their produce and come back for more!

My wife and I had been previously purchasing organic fruit & vegetables from the local grocery market at a very expensive price, and after speaking with a co-worker we decided to check into the option of CSA. With the CSA we get significantly more than we would have received at the grocery store, and the quality is much better. It also gives you the opportunity to try food that you would most likely never think of buying in the store. It has truly been a win/win for us.

Palovchak's Produce is a top notch farm. The food is always so fresh and tasty, and John and Gail are always so helpful, and great to deal with. I can't stress how please I have been with the experience.

I have recommended the CSA to all of my friends and family. If you are on the fence, I suggest that everyone trying a 1/2 share and if you are like me, you will wonder how you lived without it.

I have debated joining a CSA for a few years now and when I saw Gail and John's six-week extension listed on Local Harvest, I decided this was the chance I needed to take a trial run in the world of CSAs. Week one was excited and a little overwhelming, but I was able to email Gail for clarification on two of the items I had received. She responded promptly with the names and links to webpages about them! Each pick up has been so pleasant- kind, informative, and they seem so proud and happy that people are LOVING their delicious produce. My 18-month-old has a varied pallatte, much better than I ever did as a kid, but we are all learning together. Never did I think I or my husband would eat brussels sprouts, beets, or rutabaga (let alone LOVE them!), nor did I know what bok choy, escarole, or daikon radishes were....but I can now recognize them AND I know several ways to cook them!!!!

Thank you, John and Gail, you guys are the best!

What a wonderful article about Palovchak's Produce was written in the Bucks County Herald 9/30/2010 edition (page 20). To read that you " John" has been growing a garden since the age of 5 is most impressive. Evidently, your many years of growing has lead to the best tasting produce that I have ever tasted. I thank you for providing your produce to the community and wish you the very best in the future with a job well done.

I found out about CSA's a little late in the game last season but that is how I found the Palovchak's. Although it was process of elimination in 2009 because all other farms were already sold out of shares I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with John and Gail. I was never disappointed with the taste of the weeks bounty. 2010 I did have the opportunity to join another CSA after being cleared from a wait list but chose to stay with the Palovchak's. My friend decided to join also so we are splitting a full share which is more than enough for our families. It is the best investment one can make in your community and reap such great rewards. I have experimented with many foods I never was really that fond of and eat a whole lot healthier now that I am getting fresh foods weekly. Watching how John and Gail have grown their farm has been great. In addition next year I will plan my weekly menu better using the produce from the farm -- it has been a learning experience on how to cook everything in a timely fashion but for the food is so fresh it lasts so much longer than when you buy from the grocery store. You will not be disappointed John and Gail are friendly people. This farm is like having your very own farm with none of the work! Thanks John for all those hours you put in out in the field so I can eat so good!

Nothing beats the taste of fresh produce, especially when the produce is grown naturally without chemicals or sprays. The red and black berries at Palovchak's Produce were supreme as compared to the local grocery store berries. The black berries were the size of golf balls and absolutely melted in your mouth with a sweet taste of sugar. 2009 was our 1st year with Palovchak's Produce and we look forwarf to the 2010 growing season.
