It is wonderful knowing that the food is coming to my hands straight out of the ground from the farmer, not sprayed, in a truck from somewhere else, eventually coming from the farmer. Too many hands from farm to store. One one One, Hand to Hand, that's all at the Farmers Market. When I go to my Farmers Market in Minneapolis, it is like being in a small snapshot picture of the whole of Minneapolis. Every culture is represented there. I can't help thinking in other countries, one culture to another might be fighting instead but this business of growing and selling/buying food direct from one person to another seems to bring out the Peace in everyone. Not to mention how darn good the food tastes when it hasn't been picked way too early and sat in boxes or on a shelf for a week or so. This is as fresh as it can get.

I absolutely love Tammy Wong's Saturday morning cooking classes and make it a point to get a front row seat with my two year old grandson. Of course after the class we buy every veggie she features for that day. I have always tried different veggies, but would get frustrated because I did not know what to do with them. My grandson's diet consist mostly of veggies and fruits and he loves everything both cooked and raw. Now we buy with confidence and are healthier. Thanks Tammy and the MN Farmers Market.

I myself grew up in Fridley, MN. I used to go as often as I could. I live in Pennsylvania now, and I have a farms all around me. I buy from them at least 1-2 times a week.
The quality is fabulous. No chemicals. And it is grown local. And they are a whole lot cheaper than the stores. You then have more money to spend at the farm. Works for me.
Delish!!

Having lived all over the world, this is how you shop. For 13 years I have been coming to the market, in summer you get up at 6am to be there at 7am before it gets to hot and you bring back the best ever produce. Thank you Farmers Market for being there. It is such a big part of a Spring/Summer life in Minneapolis. For me it is just like being in Chile or Berkely California for that matter. I'll be there rain or shine!

I support the Minneapolis Farmers Market because it provides a gap between local growers, and the public.. with a lot of variety mixed in.
Every week offers a little different variety from the week before. There is a festive feel when you go there, at the same time it is very relaxing. You can find just about anything there as far as local vegatables and fruits go... you may even run across a couple either you have never heard of before, or tried before. The sights are colorful, not to mention eromatic... Plus with the variety between the Minnesota Farmers Market, and the neighboring private market across the street... You can see, smell, buy a wide variety of things from veggies, to fruits, to nuts, Meats, Flower, and even a dress or a shirt. So everyone should make a point to go to this place... take the whole family... It's great fun!!!!!!

I love the Minneapolis Farmers Market because You can find just about anything there! My family of eight always get together in early July and make a day out of the Minneapolis Farmers Market. You cant imagine the unbelievable sights and smells that surround you and attack your senses! To the right of you are smoked bratwurst, to the left piping hot kettlecorn. There are flowers, herbs, breads, honey, and any type of vegetable/fruit you can be searching for. There are canned jams, clothing, perfumes, gifts, Roasted almonds, live bands/artists performing for your entertainment. All of this happening in a block or two. The people are friendly, warm, and pleasant to talk and do business with; many of them familiar faces from past visits to the Minneapolis Farmers Market. Our local farmers put a lot of tedious time and effort into making our market a huge sucess. Without them it would just be an ordinary market. So lets all support our Local Harvest and Vote for our Minneapolis Farmers Market!!

The Minneapolis Farmers Market is a family tradition. Living in Minnesota and enduring snow and cold 4-5 months of snow and cold, we make the most of our summertime and a short growing season. I look forward to the first trip of the season to the Farmers Market all winter long.
The selection of plants and flower for my garden is always the best, and the plants are always healthy. I also love to buy breads, pastas, herbs, and fresh cheese and meat that you can't find in the grocery stores. I also think it's important to support our local farmers. Minnesota has a great farming tradition, as well a lot of backyard gardeners like myself. It wouldn't be a Minneapolis summer without our fantastic Farmer's Market.

The Minneapolis Farmers Market provides a medium where farmers and consumers can meet each other. In this day and age of ultra-processed food becoming the norm, people have lost touch with where food really comes from and our health as a culture is suffering because of it. The Minneapolis Farmers Market is full of vendors that are passionate about their products and willing to help us achieve a greater appreciation of it by providing us with cheap, nutritious, and delicious food.

Not one of your chi-chi tourist markets, the Minneapolis Farmers Market is the real deal. Real farmers are there 7 days a week. And have been since 1876. It's crowded and noisy and real. Not a disney-fied tourist spot. This is the real thing. You don't have to be chic and fashionable to shop here. Just smart. You get the best value for your money; fresh picked fruits and veggies, local meats and cheeses, plus pickles, salsas, pastas, breads, all local. And the market has changed over the years as Minneapolis has changed, so it now features the herbs and produce used in African and Asian cuisines. You can feed your family fresh and local all week long. And don't be afraid to ask what something is or how to cook it. Growers love to share.
