Minneapolis Farmers Market

By: anonymom (May 12, 2009)
Not one of your chi-chi tourist markets, the Minneapolis Farmers Market is the real deal. Real farmers are there 7 days a week. And have been since 1876. It's crowded and noisy and real. Not a disney-fied tourist spot. This is the real thing. You don't have to be chic and fashionable to shop here. Just smart. You get the best value for your money; fresh picked fruits and veggies, local meats and cheeses, plus pickles, salsas, pastas, breads, all local. And the market has changed over the years as Minneapolis has changed, so it now features the herbs and produce used in African and Asian cuisines. You can feed your family fresh and local all week long. And don't be afraid to ask what something is or how to cook it. Growers love to share.
