close to home, provides mid week veggies when they are harder to get at eastern market, brings Wayne state on board with local foods, and not least of all is in the shadow of the greatest library in the state. broccoli and a book perhaps?

Detroit is leading the way in urban farming with a network of over 400 urban gardens and farms. Wayne State is a key motivating force along with great collaborative non- profits. Yeah Detroit!

It's right in the middle of Motown; surrounded by busy streets, stores, bars, noise, people of all ages, social strata and ethnicities! And Wayne State Farmers' Market provides the entire community with fresh, healthy produce, which is enjoyed and APPRECIATED by the whole area!

It's a fantastic local market which brings fresh food to the Wayne State and Midtown Detroit Neighborhood. It's an event that everyone looks forward to, every Wednesday. It gives us a great reason to take a nice walk outside on a wonderful summer day, to go browse the wonderful fresh food options.

I love the campus and Midtown area, and the market fits into the neighborhood perfectlyÂ?helping fill the need for easy access to fresh, local produce and goods for the residents, as well as for those of us who live slightly farther away.

The Farmer's Market on Wayne State's Campus allows for easy access to a population set who historically makes unhealthy food choices- students! Healthy, nutritious food is essential to our hungry minds!!! Thank you Wayne State Farmer's Market!

The market at Wayne is a convienent source of fresh food for all students, faculty, staff members, passerbyers and local residents near campus. It's midweek time slot caters to consumers who don't have time to attend weekend markets or those that replenish their stock before the weekend. Though it has a fewer number of vendors, the selection is based on the promotion of local food, sustainable agriculture practices and entrepeneurship, while still providing consumers with a wide variety of products.

I'm the market manager, but completely unpaid for this work, so I don't have a (personal financial!) conflict of interest in writing this! The market is conveniently located for the benefit of students and employees of WSU, nearby institutions such as the Detroit Public Library and the Detroit Institute of Arts, and mid-town residents. We have a wide variety of farm-fresh and wholesome foods at very affordable prices--things that are hard to come by in Detroit!

With the state of the economy right now (especially in Michigan) it is great that students and community members are not discrouaged, and still able to produce fresh produce at a decent price with everything locally made produce or baked which is extremely important.

The market is all locally made produce and baked goods and is a nice compliment to the Eastern Market. It allows WSU students who do not know about or have the opportunity to visit the Eastern Market to buy and support from local farmers.

Fresh produce at a decent price, kind and informative sellers, and a wonderful selection. A feel-good way to support local business and take advantage of healthier food options. The Farmers Market undoubtedly has something for everyone.

There aren't very many options in the city of Detroit for fresh and local produce. This weekly market allows residents and students in the Wayne State area to support local farmers and the farmers market also accepts bridge cards to help low income shoppers have access to healthy foods. They are also preparing to accept Project Fresh and Senior Project Fresh coupons from customers. These are programs that help pregnant women and children, and senior citizens, have access to Michigan-produced fruits and vegetables sold at farmers markets.
