We've been CSA members since the inception of Goodwill at Homefields...that was 14 years ago. In addition to the flexible pick up schedule, the value of the PYO (pick your own) fields cannot be overstated. There are herb beds galore, plus different types of peppers, tomatoes, and fruits like blueberries, strawberries and concord grapes. There are flowers every week to freshen your table. The regular share of veggies are washed, presented and easy to "pick" from the shelves. The PYO fields are near the barn and easy to navigate. At the end of the season there is gleaning - shareholders may come out to the farm and pick the leftover greens, cabbages, sometimes carrots and potatoes. Great value. The farm employs adults with special needs (IDD and other) who might otherwise be inside working. Homefields, the non profit organization that owns the land and buildings, saved a neighboring farm from certain development. The cost of a share is very competitive.

I appreciate the peaceful surroundings at Goodwill at Homefields in Millersville. Picking up the harvest each week during the growing season not only gives me a warm feeling as I remember my growing up years on our family farm, it also evokes a sense of satisfaction to know the farm gives meaningful employment to those wonderful men and women working for Goodwill Industries. I enjoy seeing the smiles on the faces of the workers. It is fun to watch others' children romp and play and ask questions while being refreshed in the outdoors. (Our children are grown). I see our membership at the CSA not only as a means of providing good nourishing organic food for our family, but also an avenue of investing in our local community. A special thank you to the workers, the staff, Scott who is the manager and the board members. We appreciate you.

This is our second year as shareholders of this CSA. Not only do we get a healthy harvest of fresh fruits and veggies from May through November, we are supporting the efforts of providing a positive working experience for adults who have disabilties. We love being a part of this non-profit organization and are happy to support its mission.

One of the things that my family and I enjoy when we come to the farm is the friendly faces and the tranquility of the property. We enjoy self harvesting an array of beautiful flowers, sweet berries, a wonderful selection of herbs and a variety of peppers.

We also enjoy learning more about the farming process and how we can incorporate some of the more non-traditional foods into our diets. The variety is nice!

At the end of the season, the farm is open to shareholders to self harvest unlimited amounts of veggies such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, char and brussel sprouts.

We are happy to be members of this CSA and look forward to next year's surplus!

This was our first year doing a CSA and we chose Homefields. The farm is beautiful and very well run. The pick-you-own field was wonderful! Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The produce is good but if you do a half share, which we did, you really don't get a great value. It didn't help that my family doesn't really eat greens (we tried!) because that is what you get a lot of. Also, if you go on Saturday to pick up your produce the pickings are slim.

Overall, it was a good experience and I was glad that I was able to support such a wonderful endeavor.
