We have been members of the Mildred's Drumlin Farm CSA for 3 years and have loved it. The produce is beautiful and varied, and the shares are generous. Deb and Steve go out of their way to keep things interesting: They grow multiple varieties of almost everything, so there are French-style haricots verts in addition to the more typical green beans, purple potatoes, watermelon radishes, red russian kale--the list goes on and on. We have gotten jade-green baby kohlrabi, sweet delicata squash, ripe raspberries, and the most beautiful heads of lettuce I have seen. It is always a treat to see what's in the box each week. The cut-your-own herb garden has everything from thyme and rosemary to amazing-smelling lovage and Thai basil. The farm also partners with a select few other local food producers; this last season we were part of the "bread club" and had an egg share, which worked great.

Going to pick up our MDF produce from Steve and Deb every week is just plain fun. This is the first time we've been CSA members, and the whole experience is open and wholesome, from the food to the pick-up system to the people, and the people are just wonderful. That's half the reason you're interested in a CSA, right? Half for the stellar food and half because you want to know where it comes from -- WHO it comes from. We're so glad we found MDF and Steve and Deb. Nuts and bolts: the half and full share memberships are really affordable. There is also the option to join a bread CSA membership with Juniper Cottage Bakery that delivers to MDF. And then you can always purchase dairy, egg, and meat products from two other local farms that stock the MDF fridge every week or by order depending on the product wanted: Hickory Nut and Red Cardinal farms. Final word: You'll love MDF, or I'll go jump in my compost pile!

Beautiful, delicious veggies, flowers and fruits from great people. What more could you want? Having been friends with the folks from Mildred's Drumlin Farm for 40 years and casually sharing their farm produce, it is a treat to now be part of a CSA where we get lovely produce throughout the growing season. And a discount on a Christmas tree to boot!
