I was disheartened to discover this farm uses GM grains in the winter months to feed his cows. I feed my family organic, whole food exclusively and the past two months since we switched to Southern Oaks Jersey raw milk we have been ill. I was examining all our food trying to find the cause. Sadly, I found it. I spend close to 2k a month feeding my family organic whole foods. The last 6 years have been a journey of healing for my family where autoimmune disease runs amok. Drinking milk from this farm has set us back months if not years.

We have been using Milky Way Milk for years and some in our family get upset stomachs, but still kept drinking it because we love it:) But I researched and found on their website that they use gmo feed to supplement. We found Southern Oaks raw milk recently and so far, the same family members have not had upset stomachs from it. Not sure if its due to non gmo or something else, but whatever it is we are thankful for this milk!

I was told he feeds non GMO during winter months. Maybe this is a recent change.

Thank you for this comment. I too am looking for raw milk from 100% grassfed cows. I'm just moving to the area and am happy to have found this raw milk at a store!! I will look for another source though for the winter months. Grain is not great but GMO grains are not acceptable for me either.

How is it their fault that you didn't do your research before purchasing this milk?

We bought Southern Oaks Jersey Farm's milk from a small roadside store in SC. It tastes wonderful, it keeps well in the fridge, and the cream line is amazing: we're all amazed at the percentage of cream in each gallon of milk. Good stuff!

Thank you, Southern Oaks Jersey, for your wonderful raw milk! Inspired by the beautiful self-sustaiing life and of the sisters at The Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, CT (abbeyofreginalaudis.org), I wanted to try making my own dairy products. So, I searched for local raw milk and found yours at Vaughn's Country Store in Simpsonville. What a fantastic find!

On a very regular basis now, your milk becomes cottage cheese, sour cream, yogurt, butter, and a semi-soft cheese. And my shopping list is this: MILK. Truly, the only other ingredients involved are rennet (only in the semi-soft cheese) and sea salt (only in the semi-soft cheese and the yogurt).

I hope to come visit your farm and share my enthusiasm in person!

Blessings, Jill Kriegel

My family has been drinking their raw milk for years and we Love it. Their high quality milk is even cheaper than regular store bought milk. My family and I used to go to Southern Oaks Jersey Farms for our raw milk now we go to Vaughn's Country store in Simpsonville.

I thank Mark & his family for all they do.

I am a big fan of raw/cold pasteurized milk and Mark Wiley has got it figured out. My whole family loves his milk and all of his other products. Once you've had "real milk" you just can't go back to that stuff they sell at the grocery store.

I am so glad we can get healthier raw milk from the Wiley's. So many people are denied this healthier alternative. I am lactose intolerant but I can drink this because it hasnt been pasturized. The ice cream was the bomb!

I have been buying my milk from this local farm for a couple of months now. The owner Mark is extremely nice. The dairy is clean and the milk is good. They also sell fresh cultured buttermilk. If you are looking for raw milk I would definately suggest Southern Oaks.
