This is the 2nd yr, that I've ordered from Rick's. 1st yr. didn't know that it took weeks to finally ripen (I prefer them really soft to eat), thought I got ripped off, but Ricks told me to be patient & wait. I did, just like this yr. I waited as each of them started to ripe & then ate them like they came right off the tree, just twisted the top off & ate them, skin & all. Tried to bake with them, but the flavor was just to great to wait that long, did mix it with ice cream & it was yummy. I prefer to just wait & eat them when they ripen, only trouble I have is that I'm seeing the end of them coming way tooooo soon, guess I'll have to order more for next yr. Too bad we can't get them yr. around, waiting is not my strong suit. You won't be sorry that you ordered from here, truly delicious & worth the waiting game.

I received my order {seasonal fruits] yesterday and the box was damaged, fruit juice dripping out of the box. The box was not sturdy enough, it looked like the USPS ran over it with their truck. Very disapointed. No call back from Ricks.

Just received a replacement package of cherimoyas from Rick's Farms. On opening the package, was greeted with the faint scent of cherimoyas just beginning to ripen. Am hopeful they will ripen to the deliciously fragrant scent I've come to expect in years past.

Rick has exceeded my expectations in sending out an unexpected replacement...and so quickly. Fantastic service and response.

Will recommend Rick's Farms as long as they ripen to their usual tasty perfection.

Thank you Rick ! ! !

...and are also inedible. On arrival, they were beautiful. White mold developed after a week's ripening, however. Managed to salvage three bites of the largest, but now have a bad taste in my mouth from the third bite.

Suspect the cherimoyas were harvested too early to ripen properly; feel Rick should have been aware of that possibility and cautioned me to wait another few weeks to order the fruit. The first two bites were bland and slightly bitter; lacked the flavor and sweetness I'd come to expect from a cherimoya...may have been ruined as a result of the mold, however.

On the plus side, the cherimoyas were on my doorstep the day after their Tuesday shipment.

Have just left a voice mail for Farmer Rick. If he should return my call and make things right with this cherimoya order, will let the board know.

I placed a double order of satsumas. The order was placed and it arrived in a timely manner but the box and the produce were destroyed. I figured this was the USPS however, the box was not thick enough or padded at all nor was fragile written on the outside of the box anywhere. I requested a replacement shipment of the satsumas. I received them but didn't hear back from the farm until the day he already shipped me a replacement order. They arrived damaged just like the first shipment and also harvested several days before they were ripe. Basically, the packaging does not protect the produce at all. Satsumas do not continue ripening after harvest, so we had sour satsumas. As the partner to an organic farmer I know there are major challenges to farming and shipping produce, but this wasn't even an attempt at protecting the produce you've purchased for the bumps expected in shipping. This needs to be corrected.

Over the past weeks I have been buying boxes of pomegranates from Sam's Club. Those Sam's pomegranates are large, sweet and delicious. By contrast, the pomegranates I received from Rick's were very small and were tasteless. The description in the website says that the pomegranates are pinkish on the outside and red inside but quite a few of those at came in the box were more green than pink on the outside. I opened one of the ripest looking and tried it. It was certainly red inside but had no taste. Perhaps it needs to ripen. I'll try again in a few days. In the meantime, I've gone back to Sam's Club and bought a couple of boxes of pomegranates there.

We ordered this for our parrot sanctuary. We got our fruit box in a very timely manner, the fruit was delicious. The post office managed to manhandle the box a bit, (NOT the sellers fault as it was EXTREMELY well packed), but the fruit inside was very good. Definitely worth the order. And Rick was nice enough to swap out the avocados for us since parrots cannot eat avocados. We will definitely order from Rick's Seasonal Produce again!

My shipment of passion fruit arrived in perfect condition. Of all the vendors on Local Harvest, I think Rick's farm sent the most consistent quality of ripe, sweet and fragrant passion fruit. I'd highly recommend Rick's passion fruits.

Having previously had orders of fruit delivered from other online vendors with less than fresh quality. I am pleased to report that this order was delivered to me on the east coast, fragrant fresh and seeds still attached to the inside of the mostly smooth purple skins. I could not ask for better purple fruit had I picked them myself. I will order again!

I ordered Passion Fruit from two different farms simultaneously. This box took slightly longer to arrive but the fruit was larger and in better condition than the other farm. This four pound shipment was also the same size as the other farms five pound shipment and $15 cheaper. I am very happy with the quality of the fruit - there were no discards in the box and I expect at least a couple - and they are sweet and tart and lovely. Would definitely order from RIcks again. Thank you!

This shipment of Meyer lemons arrived to my door in perfect condition! I've never smelled lemons this fragrant before... so much so that I could smell the delicious spring floral lemon aroma before the box was even opened!!! The lemons are of a gorgeous deep golden yellow color and are very ripe and juicy!!! However, they are quite tiny in size compared to grocery store Meyer lemons. In fact, almost lime-sized! Personally, I prefer these small-sized lemons because less lemon goes to waste this way. I hate having to cut open a large lemon in situations where I really only need a small slice or wedge of lemon for something... like in a glass of tea, for instance. Of course, multiple small lemons can always be used for larger jobs that call for a regular-sized lemon, so the size really shouldn't be an issue. Quality is what matters, and in that respect these Meyer lemons can't be beat!!!

I ordered this Seasonal Fruit Box on 2-23 and received it 2-26 from California to Florida. It was all some of the best I have ever eaten -- so fresh and full of juice! The limes and avocados in particular were wonderful!!! I had never had Cherimoya before so I think I ate it before it was ripe enough as it was not as soft as I had read it should be. Lesson learned. The box contained: 3 - Fuerte Avocados 3 - Hass Avocados 1 - small Cherimoya 3 - Navel Oranges 6 - Eureka Lemons 6 - Bearss Lime 6 - Mandarins 3 - blood oranges

I thoroughly enjoyed these persimmons. There were a lot more than I expected and they are a little smaller than other vendors.....however, they were in excellent condition. I lost only a few because I was careless in storing them but I dehydrated a lot of them and still had plenty to enjoy fresh. And they were quite tasty fresh and dehydrated.

I just made another order from another vendor ONLY because I didn't want/need as many as this generous order contains and it will give me an opportunity to do a comparison. With that being said, I will definitely order from this farm again. Thanks Rick. Good job.

I was pleasantly surprised after much disappointment, I ordered this fruit box blindly. I didn't think to stop and see what was in season, I simple was sapote, cherimoya, and guavas. So I ordered, and what I got was lemons, oranges, grapefruit and avocados. I was upset, I can go to the local market and pick any of this stuff up. So I sent an email sparking for a refund. They complied very respectfully and told me to keep the fruit. So I tried them, not expecting much... And then, Zang! The tastiest orange I've ever had, and the grape fruits ahhh man fegitabouit, it tasted like it had hints of pineapple.... Pineapple! When was the last time you had a grapefruit remind you of pineapple. Amazing. So I feel bad about the refund. And have ordered a bunch of pink guavas and white sapote. Can't wait.

Rick has been one of my favourite farmers since 2011, having been my local farmer in Los Angeles and present supplier of select fruits to my new location and all travelling points inbetween. This man certainly knows his avocados, and takes great care in choosing (& packing) the perfect fruit to suit the needs of his customers both local and afar.
