OK, I'd like to start by saying I'd never had better 90percent lean ground beef in my life, PRIOR to Teton Water's recent packaging change. What happened? We were buying this meat from our local Natural Grocer in Montrose, CO. The label went from black to white and there is now an absorbent pad inside the cyropack and the meat is coarser ground and far less juicy and tasty. We've been doing a functional paleo diet and have been eating small patties of this meat at almost every dinner meal and some lunches, too. Suddenly the packaging has changed and the flavor and tenderness of the meat has gone down considerably. So disappointed. My husband noticed the pad in the packaging but we also noticed the difference in the "ground" of the meat and in the flavor. The date now is July, 2015. There seemed to be sourcing problems, as for awhile the Natural Grocer couldn't keep up with the demand. Now the meat is available again, but the quality just isn't there.

I'll try to be brief which means I won't be. I've never written an online review for anything, but Teton Waters inspired me enough to actually find somewhere to come write this.

I ordered 40 pounds of ground beef from TWR. I'm on the east coast, and it arrived partially thawed and quite leaky. I emailed TWR about this and - non-sarcastic WOW - they are the top of the mountain for customer service. Christa N. responded immediately via both email and phone. She was apologetic - and not in a generic, insincere way. The following Monday (their shipping day), my order was replaced in full and delivered overnight in perfect condition. They could not have done more to be responsive and thorough in seeing to it that the order was fulfilled properly and that I was satisfied. They truly endeared themselves to me with their level of customer service. Impressive, rare, and much appreciated.

As to the beef: Firstly, they are right in the ballpark for best prices as far as online grass fed retailers that deliver nationwide (at least as of summer 2013). Now I've only experienced their ground beef, but it is excellent. I eat ground beef daily and have for years, and I've tasted just about everything grass fed from just about everywhere. The ground beef from TWR is, in a word, nice. It has a light, very pleasant flavor, and a surprising lack of gaminess. I don't dislike the gamey flavor that many people complain about with grass fed beef, but if you are one of those complainers, TWR may be worth trying out. I'm really, really pleased with the quality and flavor of this ground beef and based on this first order I've experienced, I recommend the hell out of this place to anyone looking for good beef done right.
