I have been a member of New City Farm for a year now. I have to say this CSA does not disappoint! Not only are they doing amazing things for the community by employing students but their produce is incredible. If you are looking to join a CSA you will not be disappointed with New City.

We have been members of the New City Urban Farm since its beginning. The farm gets bigger and better every year. A half share works great for our family. We love both the produce and the program behind it. Lance is an amazing mentor for the students employed over the summer. Its a fantastic opportunity for those involved and you will be greatly enriched as well.

My husband and I had a half share at the farm during the summer of 2013. The first chance we had to sign up for a 2014 share, we jumped at it. The produce was beautiful & the value is excellent. We often had more veggies than we knew what to do with.

We also loved that the farm and pick-up are both right in the city. Living in the neighborhood, it's a quick trip for us to pick up our share and we get to enjoy seeing our vegetables grow over the summer!

To top it off, the farm has an excellent mission teaching skills to neighborhood youth. It's very fun to watch the students grow in their abilities and knowledge of the produce over the course of the summer.

We have been part of this CSA for the past two years. We have really enjoyed getting lots of fresh, local organic produce all summer and fall. We have had a half share which has provided us with plenty of produce to feed our family of 5. The shares each week have a good amount of food, a large variety and always fresh, well cleaned and delicious produce. We also love the option of you pick days where are kids can get out on the farm pick their own food!

The mission of the CSA is also great by helping its local community members through the hiring of local high school students and teaching them about farm life, working and business. The students and workers have always served us well!

Our family has purchased a Full share every year this CSA has been available. The produce is excellent and well maintained. The harvests are more bountiful every year and Farmer Lance actually listens and responds to the members thoughts on quantity and variety of produce. The one thing that truly sets this CSA apart from others is the wonderful job they do inspiring the neighborhood youth. This is an all around excellent CSA.

My husband and I participated in the New City Urban Farm CSA last year and will be participating again this year. We had a half share for the two of us and it gave us plenty of produce for each week. We were also able to can and store some of our produce and have enjoyed it throughout the winter months.

We enjoyed the convenience of being able to walk to pick up our CSA. There was a lot of variety in the produce each week including different assortment of vegetables (ie. 3 types of carrots, or 5 types of squash) and I appreciated the number of heirloom varieties.

We appreciated the chance to participate in the farm through work-days, u-pick opportunities and the harvest dinner, which gave us a chance to meet other CSA members and the farm staff.

We also liked stopping by while the New City Breaktime Bakery was open (a job-skills training program for middle schools) to pick up some bread and pizza dough to go along with our vegetables.

We had a half share last year, the first year of New City Urban Farm, and we bought a half share again for this year. It's practically in our back yard, so we love the convenience of being able to walk over and pick up our food.

The food is high quality, and a half share was a good amount for 2-3 people last year.

We especially like that New City Urban Farm is in our neighborhood and employs high-schoolers from the neighborhood. A lot of the CSAs around are a ways out of town, but New City is right in the city. It doesn't get more local than that!

My family had a New City Urban Farm share last season. We loved it! We had a full share, and it was plenty of food for our family of four. We had enough to eat weekly, have people over for dinner, and make freezer meals for the future. I loved introducing my little kids to new foods and always knowing we had a variety of fresh and beautiful produce to eat.

I am also so proud to have New City Urban Farm in Grand Rapids and in my neighborhood. The work the organization does with youth employment is so exciting. My kids loved visiting the farm each week for pick-up, and getting to know "our farmers" throughout the season.
