I found Hendricks Farm through this website about 6 months ago, and I am so glad I did! I've shopped at several local farm stores for years, but nothing compares with the quality I get at Hendricks. The grass-fed beef is the best I've had. The homemade cheese is superb. The free-range eggs have a beautiful bright orange yolk you rarely see these days. Talk about wholesome!
I stock my freezer with supplies for making sausages and homemade stocks. I simply email my order on Monday and it's there on Saturday for pickup. Chicken feet, calves feet, oxtails, lard, organ meats of any kind... this stuff is hard to find anywhere else. Hendricks is a blessing for anyone trying to eat according to traditional dietary wisdom.
What I love most about Hendricks is they're true believers. Like me, they consider a nice cut of meat a thing of beauty. During a recent visit, the butcher cut me a pork shoulder butt with a nice rind of fat that he sliced so it would self-baste, and a beautiful osso bucco from a fresh veal calf he'd just gotten in. Maybe you can't wax poetic about meat until you've struggled for years to find wholesome foods in a processed world ... but that's the vibe I get from Hendricks. They care about their animals, their customers, their environment.

Closer than you think, it's worth the trip to this farm. While award-winning artisanal cheeses are the specialty here and not to be missed, excellent meats and other items are also offered. To get the full experience, ask if the Cheesemaker is available (although don't be surprised if he is not... running a farm the way they do is not for those who enjoy idle chat!) Be sure to see the robotic milker! Visit the web site and sign up to receive the newsletters. These occasional anecdotes offer charming and educational insights into the creative mixing of old farm methods with modern farm intelligence that result in the natural products and low-carbon-footprint this farm is blessed with.

I found Hendricks Farm & Dairy by buying some of their products at another local, organic farm. The first time I went I had a little trouble finding them (no sign on the road, just a house number on the mailbox; they tell me a sign is on order), but it was worth the search.
I've been several times in the last 3-4 months. The staff at the store are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, & informative. Their cheeses are SUPERB. Part of the fascination is noticing how the types of cheese I like change from batch to batch, as the season changes.
