I just visited this market a week ago hoping to find somewhere in the Tampa area that I can purchase locally grown/raised/made food. I agree with a previous reviewer that this is really NOT a farmers market. There were a couple vendors selling fresh baked goods, kudos to them. None of the produce was really fresh or local, all shipped in. There was a couple vendors selling cooked food to eat there, which I can't speak for. Also a some arts and crafts vendors. Overall, if you're looking for local food, organic food, or really anything other than baked goods this was a bust!

Sorry to hear it hasn't changed. It's a cute local arts & crafts market, though & Ybor is a really cool place.

It has a truly large variety of very fresh fruits and vegetables. There are other things like varieties of honey which I love

I love buying fresh produce and supporting my local community over grocery stores anytime I'm able. If you've ever been to Ybor City you'd know why it's a great place for a farmer's market. A lot of history, culture and ambiance surrounds the Ybor area--and it's a great place to walk around for the afternoon. Perfect place to pick up produce and much more.

Ybor City Fresh Market is a way to bring not only the Ybor locals, but all Tampa and Tampa Bay folks together in a great venue. Great food, fun place to be on a Saturday.

There was a vendor or two with fresh bread, but the only thing in the way of produce here is the run-of-the-mill crud from California/Mexico/Chile with grocery store stickers on it. Gag. There is also an abundance of tacky jewelry being sold. I cannot believe that Tampa has no decent farmers' markets!

On the flip side, it's super dog-friendly, and many vendors have bowls of water sitting out for your pooches.

Thanks for the review. I'm tired of wasting my time going to what I hope will be a true farmers market only to find it's basically grocery store produce. I went to a really good one in California, now I'm spoiled.

We enjoyed our visit to the Ybor Market, we're looking forward to seeing it grow. There were local vendors offering lots of homemade and hand-crafted items that were delicious and beautiful.

The produce area had a lot to offer and was teeming with people but other than some Ruskin tomatoes nothing was very local - I guess it's just the "off season" for Florida produce. I'm hopeful that when the weather cools we'll see more local growers bringing their goods -- it's their efforts and the community we really want to support!

Overall it was a nice family outing and we came home with some great (and tasty!) items. Again, the market is stlll growing -- it didn't take us very long to get through it. If you're coming from a longer distance I'd suggest planning something else to do in the nearby Ybor or Channelside areas. We recommend it though, we'll definitely go back!
