I did order some fresh green walnuts from the Red Rosa Farm, did received them few days later but it was NOT english walnuts but black walnut whish are impossible to crack.
Returned them all to them.
Did NOT get a refund check.
I cannot believe that it is Mrs Cathy Crosson decision. She is well know around Spencer for her outmost honesty and integrity. It must have been an employee with a very low honesty level. This business is looking for victims like me ..
Refrain from doing business with them. What a shame. It seems that before they were using PayPal, not anymore, checks only. About reported income taxes?

I contacted Red Rosa Farm for chanterelle mushrooms. Cathy sent them the very next day to NC. Fast, efficient and very helpful. The mushrooms were in fresh condition and we fixed them up the next evening. Perfect. Thanks!

I ordered English green walnuts (as shown on the picture of the farm) to be harvest and shipped to me on specified date. Instead of that and before the scheduled date I got different walnuts covered with rust looking spots. I immediately called Cathy and was ready to return the nuts and asked for my money back. She refused to get the nuts back but promised to send me a check in few days, but for over a month I didn't get them.
Cathy cheated me with my order, cheated me with return of my payment (she promised it over one month ago), I talked to her 5 times, now her phone is disconnected. She never responded to my e-mails and voice mails.
Don't do any business with the Red Rosa Farm people, otherwise you'll lose your money

I found Red Rosa Farm online. The more I read about it, the more I liked it.
Ordered green walnuts which are hard to find where I live.
The order arrived quickly. The quality was excellent. The service was great.
I highly recommend it to everyone.
Thank you, Cathy. I will be back often.

Ordered some seeds and after 7 days of silence, I inquired about the status both by email and voicemail. Well after a week unresponsive inquiries, I told Local Harvest just to cancel my order. No phone messages returned from Red Rosa Farm. No emails, not even the ones from Local Harvest were responded to. Don't bother wasting your time here. Doesn't even deserve one star.

"The shells are reasonably easy to crack with a good nutcracker or heavy object."
That's a joke. I never was able to crack any of them open. But, broke a brand new heavy duty nutcracker trying (this, after breaking a generic one, first.)
So, I spent money on two nutcrackers, plus the nuts, and never even got to try them!

I ordered seeds from them on October 20, 2014. It is now December 1 and no seeds. I spoke with owner and she said she would send them back out. Never got them and now I just want my money back. I do not like leaving bad reviews but bad business is bad business. Save yourself the stress and do not order seeds from this company. You most likely will end up disputing the transaction through your bank!

We planted your Boston Marrow Squash in my small garden in Cambridge, MA. Several months later.... a 25.1 pound monster. We had to ask a strong young man to cut it down for us since it had escaped the rabbits by climbing up a fence and using the stoutest branches of an old rose bush to keep it aloft while it grew. Pictures to prove it! I guess this squash really is a native.
Thank you, family of Red Rosa Farm.

Can not give you exact dates but ordered the above item in June, did receive them in July. Expected to have them look like picture but were covered in spots of black and with 2-3 in the process of rotting. I still held out hope that I would be able to use and found that only if I pounded on the edge of my knife could I cut in half. So instead of 8 pieces ended up with two and once in a while 4. Even though my nuts were not green, I do like their selection of seed so will put an order together soon. Thank you.

Haven't received my order. I ordered on June 10; it was supposed to ship June 19, but so far, nothing. That wouldn't be a problem if the Farm contacted me to let me know what's going on, but they haven't even responded to my email request for information. Very poor business practices, IMO. Certainly won't order again.

I ordered seven different salad greens and the Armenian cucumber from Red Rosa Farm. The seeds arrived in a padded envelope via us mail. The seeds arrived on time and as expected. The vendor even took the time to paste pictures of the full grown plant on each of the seed packets. There are no sowing instructions. Thank you Red Rosa Farm I look forward to giving all of these a try this season.

The Farm here dose bad business, my order was never shipped. I had to write them to get my order filled. When they did ship they tried to send it like a letter not a package. I was charged twice for shipping, once by Red Rosa Farms $3.50 then again by the post office in my town $1.41 for 2 packages of okra (25 count package each). They should have sent it as a package and not a letter!!! BAD FARM

I received a selection of carrot seeds from Red Rosa farm as a gift from my partner, who had included a note with the order. A lovely person at Red Rosa farm re-wrote the electronic note by hand before sending the seeds to my home--a really beautiful gesture.
The carrot seeds I received have performed well, even when neglected for a few weeks at a time. All of them were interesting, and many were varieties that I had never seen before.
This was a wonderful, personalized gift!

I just bought a Ginkgo tree and it is a beauty! the tree loves Co2 so much so that in burst into a growing frenzy. but don't all plants love Co2. The term "tolerate Co2 changes" isn't the right term, they demand C02 change in the positive direction for lighting fast growth, Otherwise with current Co2 levels this tree will grow somewhat slower then other trees. Co2 is not a poisonous gas folks!
Quoted from your description of theses trees:
"They tolerate CO2 changes and other pollution, and thus are very adaptable to urban settings." (tolerate Co2 changes isn't the right term, should be demand Co2 to grow)

I ordered hickory nuts from this farm a while back and haven't been able to forget about them! I had never tried hickory nuts before, but they're amazing. The flavor is very delicate and struck me as having a strong hint of blueberry. Not what I was expecting and I'm glad I tried them. I should add that the eggs I ordered were also excellent! I definitely recommend this farm's products.

I have ordered alpaca yarn twice from Red Rosa Farm.
It feels wonderful, strong, warm, soft, lofty in texture and has good structure for knitting.
The yarn arrived promptly the first time; the second order took rqo weeks because the yarn was being processed at a mill.
I was so grateful the Cathy of Red Rosa put the yarn in priority mail after I emailed.
And the best part about this yarn: it comes from a chemical-free, no-kill farm with a commitment to kindness to its animals. I especially like the fact that they do not restrain the animals for shearing.
I wish this farm great success.

My husband and I are veggan (vegan with eggs) but only eat this farm's eggs and only a few times a year. My eyes still fill up when I go on the farm's main page and see the cute little alpaca giddingly hopping in the air, and read their description. I wish I could visit the farm and hug the owners!

This is the second year I've ordered quail eggs from Red Rosa Farm. Last year the eggs were shipped quickly and arrived in excellent condition with no damage. This year I placed my order late and I needed them quickly. I called the farm and Cathy called me back very quickly. I wanted to get my shipment over-nighted and pay the difference with a credit card. The farm isn't able to take a credit card and I don't have a way to pay by check. Cathy volunteered to absorb the additional cost of overnight shipping to ensure I received my order in time. My hat is off to Red Rosa Farm. Thank you. Tim Cozine, USDA, APHIS, WS

I was excited to promply receive my tomato seeds from Red Rosa Farms. But, after planting hundreds of tomato seeds from a few differant companies, Red Rosa Farms tomato seeds were the only ones that only had 20% to 50% germination. I have tried to contact them thru e-mail and by phone but I have never recieved a reply. Bad seeds and terrible customer service makes a bad buisness!

I had made two attempts to order native nuts for the holidays. The first time was some time before the holidays because I wanted to check out the product beforehand. The product (a mix of black walnuts, hickory nuts and american chestnuts) was out of stock at that time. I requested to be notified when they would be available again. When I was able to order more, I placed an order for what, I thought, was an expensive price even considering they were nuts. But, I thought: they were local, native and probably were of very good quality.
When I received the package, I promptly opened it. The first three of five black walnuts I opened were basically empty. The nutmeats were dried and shriveled up. Most of the chestnuts rattled in the shell, a sign of shrinking and drying out. The only promising item was the hickory nuts and even those were below expectations. I believe that, while Red Rosa Farm claims they are not able to shell the nuts at this point in time, they should at least be able to separate the bad ones from the good ones a bit better. I understand cost would be higher for what I was looking for but I also expect a better product. Needless to say, I did not serve the nuts for the holidays and I hope at least the local squirrels were able to enjoy them.

Because of Red Rosa Farm's excellent service, I was successful in hatching my first ducklings. I plan to keep two of them as pets, and they are the best of friends and now a loving part of my family.
Red Rosa was great from start to finish in their communications, delivery, and the effectiveness/fertility of their products.
And the ducklins are beautiful. I can't wait to watch them grow and bond with me and the rest of our family :)

I wasn't really pleased with my shipment of eggs. One egg was fairly loose in the carton. A friend who has a hatchery mentioned the packing was a bit sloppy. He figured they should of sent a few more eggs to make sure you get your money's worth at least. He felt the eggs should of been individually wrapped with bubble wrap not just in paper towels and a clear egg carton. With packing peanuts around the whole inside of the box not just with puffy wrap. When I was holding the box I could feel the other box in it move around. With the way the post office handles boxes you just can't take chances. We will see if these hatch. If so I will be quite surprised. Then I may change my rate on this farm. Sorry guys but I just wasn't pleased with the way you shipped them.

I have had two email exchanges with this farm, both very pleasant. One was to ask about seed varieties for my area and another was because I was worried about how long the shipping was taking. Both times I got a response very quickly, and they were very friendly and accomodating. They offered to reship with no negativity or hesitation, but luckily they ended up arriving the next day. It was still nice to know I wouldn't be left hanging when it is time to start germinating already.

I was so pleased with both the service and the product that I received from Red Rosa Farm! The baby alpaca yarn is extremely soft and the colors that I ordered are beautiful. I really like that the alpacas are sheared by hand and without restraint. For this to happen, the alpacas must be very tame and thus, very loved! I was really happy with the communication between Red Rosa and me. They were so friendly, helpful and positive. The yarn arrived the very day after I ordered it!! I couldn't believe it. I would definitely order yarn from Red Rosa Farm again.

I just recently ordered some of the tomato seed collections. Local Harvest's automatic system let me knew when they were shipped. They arrived well packaged, well labeled and generally delightful. Shipping was timely. My only suggestion would be that a (even if its a generic type) letter should have been included. The complete lack of communication from the farm - other than just the seeds ordered - doesnt provide the "connection" to the small farms that many of us come here to attain. When a customer has a connection to the farm itself, business is more likely to repeat. However, still very well done! Thanks again.
