Buying fromt the AFM makes me feel I'm contributing to the community. Each of the farmers, bakers, and crafters provides the very finest quality products for their customers. The hours are excellent, the picnic tables invite you to sit and chat with folks, and the vendors aim to please. What more could one want for a Saturday morning (or Tuesday evening)?

I support the Abingdon Farmers Market because it's a community enterprise that allows us to interact with one another face to face. Of course, the fresh fruit, vegetables and meats are truly a local treasure.

It is a wonderful place to take your whole family on a Saturday morning. The shop keepers are friendly and remember you by name. The selection is incredible, fresh vegetables, fresh meat and the baked goods are fantastic. Not to mention the "Herb Lady" and all of the great crafts and jewelry. My family always makes a day of it and brings a cooler for our purchases and then we eat lunch at a local Abingdon cafe. We are not from Abingdon but it is worth the drive. My family looks forward to those Saturday mornings when we all pack up and make the most out of Sat. at the market.

I have moved here from a very large agricultural community and never in all my years there have I experienced the type of community based atmosphere as I do at the AFM. The AFM has some of the most wonderful people all coming together to support the local interests of farmers and consumers alike. I am very grateful to be apart of it all and I salute all those who work so very hard to make this happen. Go AFM!

The AFM is well-run and provides residents and visitors of Abingdon local produce, one-of-a-kind art, and special treats. Everyone at the market is friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to pass on valuable information. The city of Abingdon has dedicated a pleasant, out doors compound for the intent on providing a great atmosphere for the AFM and its patrons. I love the sights, smells, and sounds of the market! Children playing, music drifting in the air, lots of people smiling. In this age, finding great products and fair prices means a lot. More than that, doing one's part to sustain local agriculture and heritage impacts not only one's self but the entire community. The AFM is the best market I've ever been to. It's a must any time I visit beautiful Abingdon!

AFM has it all! Fresh produce (traditional, certified natural, and organically raised), pasture-raised meat (beef, pork, chicken, lamb, turkey), fresh-cut flowers, fresh-baked eats, and locally made crafts! There is even locally made wine available! I never leave the market empty handed!

The quality and diversity of food and other products available at the Abingdon Farmers' Market is unparalleled for a town this size. It makes it easy to buy local because the best stuff in town is at the Market.

Great selection of veggies, fruits, flowers, meats, breads and crafts. Local Chefs are often set up at a table where they cook up seasonally harvested produce to make great samples with recipes... Live music fills the hall with a lively feeling. Happy people gather.

I hope they have more farmers this year. Seemed like they had more crafters than farmers last year. We go to buy produce, not Thrift store junk.

Everyone from town loves the new Farmer's Market Pavillion which provides a great place to set up farmer's displays. It is the best way to start your Saturday morning, with Blue Grass Musicians playing, a good cup of coffee, a bowl of sausage gravy and biscuts. The produce is exceptional, the local grass fed beef, the homemade preserves and apple cyder have no comparison. The ability to order sausage, honey and other items during the winter is a blessing. Congratulations to all who have particupated this year to make this a special opportunity for regional & local patrons. Thanks to all farmers.
Sincerely,

I pretty much look to the farmers market for all my produce. Last week, I even tried beef from two different venders. I was not disappointed. I even plan to purchase a half beef this fall from one of the market venders. Good prices! My only concern is that on occasion I have seen a vender that has purchased produce from Walmart, Food City, etc......( I don't go to the market for that) How would I know this? Sticker was still on the melon! Most farmers are just trying to make an honest dollar selling their home grown produce. So, I don't let a few bad apples ruin the experience. Thanks farmers, for filling a much needed service. We love you!
