I became a member because I wanted to eat food in a sustainable way, and I realized that just buying food from organic farms wasn't enough. It requires doing things like creating compost and feeding the soil on site. It requires cultivating pollinators like bees and maintaining biodiversity so that we can continue this way of life. It requires paying farmers a living wage to maintain these high standards. Community Farm does that.
It feels really good to be part of a farming community that practices the highest values in sustainable agriculture. Community Farm is a place (a community) that cares for our farmers, a small corner of the earth and all the life that is nourished by this care. Members are welcome to visit the farm and feel a part of the magic that happens here. I love spending time at the farm. It is my refuge in SE Michigan. The vegetables are amazing, varied and plentiful! Like Anne says, "All things grow with love!" You will feel it if you visit this farm and become a member.

I have been working on the farm for three seasons now, about to head into my fourth. It is by far the best job I've ever had! I get to spend time outside every day, on our beautiful land, working with the earth and plants and animals. Not to mention, awesome people too! I've learned so much through my time on the farm, about nature, vegetables, friendship, and love. I feel totally nourished, body, mind, and spirit, by my time spent there. Our farm is a safe haven for all being that visit it. And the vegetables are so delicious! They are gorgeous and fresh, and I've learned how to freeze and can them for the winter too. Our members, workers, and anyone who comes into contact with our farm, are the luckiest people in the world.

Want to receive beaming smiles when you pick up your veggies freshly picked that morning? I do! I am really looking forward to the first harvest of spring at Community Farm of Ann Arbor. I know for absolutely certain that the veggies will be fresh and vibrant. And I know for absolutely certain that the experience of collecting them in the sweet distribution space in one of the Farm's heritage (over 100 years old) barns will take me back to simpler times of connection to the land and the farming community. And I know for absolutely certain that I will be equally well nourished by farmer Anne's beaming smile greeting Farm members coming to the farm for their beautiful veggies. I am so excited that the growing season will be here soon!
