We farm olives for the production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Half of our acreage is planted in four varieties; Koroneiki (Greek), Arbosano, Hojiblanca, and Arbequina (all Spanish). Depending on the year, we may also manage and harvest our neighbor's landscape olive trees; the oil of which is labeled "The 'Hood". Olives from our farm comprise our "Ciarlo Estate" label. Our limited production makes us one of the smallest commercial olive oil producers in the state. Both my husband and I are very "hands-on", with only a couple of seasonal part-time employees.
We also produce over 40 different varieties of jams, jellies & marmalades. The fruits may come from our own trees. But most fruit is purchased from local farms or at Farmers Markets in the area. 99% of fruit used in our jams comes from California farms.
Other specialty products are produced when the fruits are in season; pasta sauce, tomato salsa, olive oil bakery products, fruit-infused balsamic vinegars.
