CSA: Sandhill Family Farms

We offer full and half share options including organic Vegetable Shares, Fruit Shares, Egg Shares and Meat Shares.

Our Vegetable Share includes an assortment of 6-10 different organic vegetables. The average amount of produce received is slightly more than half a bushel. This is equivalent to a standard grocery bag. We pay special attention to creating well-balanced boxes and to making sure our boxes are as varied as possible from week to week.

Our Fruit Share contains an assortment of 3 to 5 different kinds of fruit. Throughout the season you will receive blueberries, peaches, plums, grapes, nectarines, raspberries, apples, pears, blackberries, apricots, and cherries.

Our Meat Share selection varies slightly from month to month, but each meat share consists of a 10-lb box containing a variety of familiar and easy-to-prepare cuts of chicken, beef and pork. Sausages and bacon are free of msg and nitrates.

Our Egg Share share consists of one dozen pasture-raised eggs per delivery. Our chickens are fed a wholesome, diverse diet of grains, vegetables and fruits. We encourage them to graze on grasses, green plants and bugs. They can move around freely with plenty of access to clean water, fresh air and sunlight.

Our members enjoy our online farm newsletter which includes pictures, stories and updates from the farm, cooking and storage tips, and recipes using the products from CSA shares. We also offer seasonal events to CSA members to explore the farm.

CSA shares may be picked up at the farm in Brodhead or at one of our convenient pickup sites in Madison or in the Chicago suburbs. Signing up online is easy, and our flexible payment plans allow you to make payments over the course of the season rather than all at once.
