Second Wind is located at Four Winds Farm, an organic, no-till operation where building and protecting healthy, undisturbed soil has always been a major goal for over 20 years. Our farming methods require very little fossil fuels, as no-till means working mostly by hand; the farm also uses solar power and warms its seedlings in a compost-heated greenhouse. Joining Second Wind CSA at Four Winds Farm means supporting farmers who go above and beyond to be responsible stewards of the land while receiving a weekly supply of delightful and nutritious vegetables. We have taken care in selecting the best varieties of each crop to grow. Remember, the bounty of the Hudson Valley changes with the seasons and so will the make-up of the shares. Here is a sampling: Lettuce, Chard, Kale, Mizuna, Arugula, Sugar Snap Peas, Bush Beans, Zucchini and Yellow Squash, Butternut Squash, Tomatoes, Hot and Sweet Peppers, Eggplant, Cabbage, Broccoli, Cucumbers, Beets, Carrots, Parsnips, Turnips, Radishes, Potatoes, Parsley, Basil, Culinary Herbs, Onions, Leeks, Scallions, plus a few surprises.
