Family owned since the late 1800's, Semkow Farms was originally a poultry farm. It evolved into a nursery in 1988 by Frank Semkow, Jr., a grower and purveyor of annuals and perennials, veggie plants, trees and shrubs the locals. Most recently, after Frank, Jr.'s passing in 2013, his niece, Robia Semkow, carried on the dedication to farming and family and took over the business.
Under the new flagship, it is the goal of Semkow Farms to provide non-GMO, certified organic product to the community, as well as seasonal events. Due to the devastation the winter storms the same year of Frank's death, the rebuilding process is slow but steady. Look for this farm to become a joint force against the evils of GM foods.
