Each week you can expect to find 8 to 12 varieties of produce/herbs/flowers depending on season and availability. Each CSA share also includes a weekly dozen of pasture-raised eggs (GMO-free, corn-free and soy-free).
Shenandoah Seasonal CSA Share Cost (includes sales tax): $500
This share will feed a family of 2 to 3 people. This will be a plentiful assortment of veggies and one dozen eggs. Our goal is to provide you with an amount and variety of veggies so that you will not need to supplement with trips to the grocery store.
What types of veggies can I expect to see in my share? There is always a salad green (salad mix, head lettuce or cut lettuce mix) There is always a cooking green (kale, chard, cabbage, spinach or bok choi) At least every other week there is an Allium (scallions, garlic, onions or leeks) There is usually a root (radish, beets, or carrots) Then there are the fruits of summer beginning in July! (tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and squash) Sometimes there is a fresh cut herb (basil, parsley or cilantro and others)
What if I go on vacation? You have two options, 1. have a friend or neighbor pick up in your absence, or 2. after the pick up time expires the vegetables will be donated to a local food bank.
