Shepherd's Whey Creamery is a family owned and operated goat dairy and creamery crafting artisan goat cheese. We collect the milk from our small herd of French Alpine dairy goats who are raised on pasture and supplemented with a diet of hay, kelp, minerals and whole grains offered during milking. Our goats are never fed hormones or medicated feeds, and we avoid feed that has been treated with pesticides or herbicides. We work to avoid roundup ready genetically modified feeds or grains harvested with the use of glyphosate treatment. All our animals are named, and lovingly cared for.
The milk is carried the few feet from our dairy to our grade A certified creamery where it is made in small 45 gallon batches into a variety of fresh, soft ripened and aged goat cheese. We also offer spoonable cultured "goatgurt" and drinkable "Goatgurt" smoothies as well as fresh bottled goat milk.
Our cheese is primarily sold locally at farmer's markets, or to local "farm to table" restaurants as well as right from the farm.
