The Olive Plantation

The Olive Plantation is a ten acre olive orchard that covers the hillside overlooking Pauba Valley within Wine Country Temecula. Dave and Jenna Fenton, father and daughter, planted over 1000 olive trees in 2010 with the hopes to create a beautiful landscape. The whole family soon realized they had not only began a production orchard but that an olive oil business was in the making. Now, The Olive Plantation produces premium extra virgin olive oil, the highest quality oil on the market, all from the ten acre orchard. All olives are produced and milled on site. Production of the olives includes only environmentally friendly farming methods such as organic IPM and biodiverse cover crops. Harvesting the several cultivars of olive trees is by- hand and milling is only conducted using the cold-press method. The Olive Plantation won a gold award at the 2018 Orange County Fair for their 2017 olive harvest which produced a robust, peppery, and nutty oil. The Olive Plantation is family owned and family operated with Jenna, a Cal Poly Pomona Plant Science student, conducting most of the farming activities with health and longevity of the environment and the trees as the highest priority. The farm is maintained as an ecosystem with many thriving native shrubs and grasses that have been allowed to occupy the farm alongside the trees in order to provide habitat, food sources for animal and insect species, bio-diversity, and erosion control. The Fenton family also has many farm animals that conduct nutrient recycling which helps nourish the orchard in the form of natural fertilizer. The Olive Plantation will be opening up their farm for oil tastings and tours this harvest season in fall 2019.
