This small CSA will provide exceptional quality and unusual produce to the Detroit Metro area. I specialize in a wide variety of exotic and heirloom produce. Everything provided will be the ripest, freshest and most nutritious food possible! It is not my goal to overwhelm my members with the usual obscene amounts of foods provided by many other CSA programs. I intend to provide a wide variety of high quality foods in reasonable quantities. Instead of a huge amount of one vegetable I hope to provide several different varieties of each crop. This program is not intended to be members' sole source of food but I do hope to be the primary source. Since I am just one person, each crop is lovingly planted, tended and harvested by me and all the individual care is part of what makes my food so special. I am also my biggest consumer. This means I eat what I grow and select varieties for their taste not for shipability and shelf life. I save seeds, too, so I always know what I'm getting each year. I do grow some "Ark of Taste" products but not many because I have tried several varieties and simply didn't like them. But I do grow 20 different varieties of heirloom tomatoes which have been selected and saved for several years. I also have at least 7 varieties of green beans. I'm always trying new things, too, so I can provide an ever widening variety. These are true artisan foods meant for artisan eaters.
