Rich Pastures Farm is a small, grass-based family farm managed by the Richey Family. We prioritize the long-term health of the environment, our livestock and the people who are ultimately nourished by them, and we value the preservation of heritage breeds and sustainable production methods including multi-species rotational grazing. We are thankful to serve the Lord through thoughtful stewardship of His land and animals.
We raise Berkshire pigs without any confinement, antibiotics, vaccines or growth hormones. These happy, healthy pigs free-range and forage on pasture (no chemicals). Pork is sold by the whole or half animal, at $2.85 per pound hanging. Berkshires are a heritage breed known for superior meat quality, which is especially flavorful and juicy due to its healthy monounsaturated fat with high CLAs, Omega 3s and Vitamin D. Pork is available for April 2014 and October 2014 .
Our diversified farm is also home to grass-fed beef (Lowline Angus breed), grass-fed lamb and sheep's milk dairy (East Freisian breed), as well as chickens and even a guard llama. We delight in giving farm tours and would love to meet you.
Thank you for your consideration in trusting our family to feed yours.
