The Little Flower Farm is a diversified family farm just north of Lawrence, KS. We raise chickens and dairy goats on our 40 acres, along with growing many of our own fruits and vegetables. In addition to drinking the rich, sweet milk from our goats, we use the milk to make yogurt, cheese, and wonderful soap. We are also honored to be able to help conserve approximately 15 acres of Tallgrass Prairie. It had long been our dream to move out to the country for a wholesome environment in which to raise our children, a peaceful place away from the bustle of the city (or subdivision!), and the ability to grow/raise much of our own food. Making that dream a reality is a lot of work, but richly rewarding, as well. We believe that God intends us to be good stewards of our land and our livestock, and so we try to do things as naturally as possible, using organic, holistic farming methods whenever we can, and allowing our animals to live the way they were intended to live. They are treated humanely and usually with a great deal of affection. (I say usually, because it's sometimes hard feel affectionate when the dog is barking his head off at nothing at 2 am!) Even many of the chickens have names, and the goats are, quite honestly, spoiled. You can find out more about us at our website, http://www.thelittleflowerfarm.com or find us on Facebook, where we provide updates of all that we are doing on the farm, including plenty of pictures!
