R Heritage Farm - Pasture Raised Berkshire Pork

We are a small family farm located in Yakima, WA proudly specializing in raising rare Berkshire hogs on 20 acres of organic pastureland. We sell whole and half Berkshire hogs with free delivery to the Puget Sound . Our farm's focus is to provide our customers, and ourselves, with all natural, safe, and delicious pork with an emphasis on providing an environment and lifestyle that allows our animals to live a happy and healthy life. Our Products: We raise a special and rare heritage breed of pig - The Berkshire. This is a unique breed that is very different from other breeds in terms of meat characteristics and quality. Berkshire pork is essentially the pork equivalent of Kobe beef, and it has a rich flavored taste, deep coloring, and fine marbling which is akin to high grade beef. We sell our hogs whole or by the half, and provide free delivery to the Puget Sound. We also sell farm fresh chicken and goose eggs from our pasture raised free range hens to Yakima Valley residents. Our Practices: Our animals are raised in their natural environment and are never caged or confined, and never fed antibiotics, hormones, or growth promotants of any kind. They forage on organic pasture, and are supplemented (free choice) with grain and hay in the winter. They are treated to and finished on fresh seasonal fruits, nuts, and vegetables from our organic gardens. We have excellent animal husbandry practices, and we treat our animals humanely and kindly. Our pigs are bred naturally, and we never use gestation or farrowing crates. They are free to root, wallow, and play wherever they choose. Our poultry are not housed in "portable tractors" or "pens on grass" - they have unrestricted access to roam freely on our pasture.
