The Free Soil Farm is a chemical-free vegetable farm operated by Corrin Strong on the grounds of the Hartford House, an historic landmark estate in the Village of Geneseo, N.Y. Currently we have five acres of vegetables under cultivation.
We also operate The Little Green Market (pictured at right), a seasonal farm market that is located on Avon Road (NYS Rt. 39) just north of the Livingston County Courthouse. The market is open 7 days a week for self-service from June thru October.
You can join our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and enjoy substantial savings on your produce. Unlike other CSAs we offer "Little Green Bucks" which can be purchased for use at our farm stand.

Hartford House was built in 1835 by Gen. James S, Wadsworth, Corrin's great-great-great grandfather. Gen. Wadsworth was killed in the Civil War's Battle of the Wilderness in 1864. In the 1840s he had been active in the founding of the Free Soil Party, a fore-runner of the modern Republican Party that was opposed to the spread of slavery. The property has been continually occupied by members of the family for 175 years.
