My family and I have been interested in and growing organically for the last three years. I'm an off-duty firefighter, my wife is a teacher and we have two small children. We are trying to provide a cleaner, healthier life style for our family and neighbors. We sold vegetables last year but only a small amount. I have doubled the size of my garden this year and hope to have a large crop of tomatoes, peppers, green beans, corn, squash, cucumbers and onions. I also have a fall garden with carrots, kale, different lettuce, etc. We also have free range brown eggs. The chickens do get a little feed and chicken scratch but are outside grazing all day. We have Katahdin haired meat sheep and sell the sheep for consumption. Two years ago I started raising honey bees and we now have two hives. We are planning on selling some honey if we have extra. We love to have folks out to the house for a tour and you can pick you own or call ahead and I can have your vegetables ready for you when you arrive. I can also meet or deliver vegetables if it's not too out of the way. Most of the produce are sold by the pound and I use a hanging grocer scale to weigh everything. We also have a few peach, plum and fig trees, black berry and blueberry bushes that we make jams and jelly with.
