Located northeast of Columbus in Licking County, Ohio, near Homer, we offer grass-fed lamb from our 78-acre hobby-farm and adjoining 20-acre meadows. Named after a stream on the property, the farm consists of pastures, century-old buildings, a small greenhouse, and numerous types of wildlife habitat. When available, we offer our USDA-inspected lamb at the nearby Homer Village Market, which we own; or "on-the-hoof" by appointment at our farm. Sometimes firewood and seasonal produce is available also.No fishing or hunting is permitted at time time.
Our sheep and a small flock of laying hens enjoy lush pastures supplemented by commercial feed produced at our local feed store. Their feed contains no hormones, medications or animal by-products. We provide our animals and pets loving care, fresh water and pasture, roomy shelter, and veterinary care as rarely needed.
Our sheep breed is mainly Katahdin, but also includes Suffolk/Jacob cross, Katahdin/Dorper, Polypay, and Cheviot. We prefer the Katahdin breed (hair sheep) due to its quality of meat, resistance to parasites, and no-shearing or tail docking needed.
