It may be cold outside, but there is always something to do on the farm!  Right now we are replanting our Micro Greens and Herbs! Yay!  I know a lot of people who are really missing their gardens right now, so we will do out best to help!

We are a bit late this week, the retail front has been occupying all of out time the past couple weeks!  Thank you for your contined partronage!

We are just about sold out of wreaths, and kissing balls.  We do have some left, but they are going fast!

This week and next week we will be busy fillingour gift baskets orders, flower arrangements, and sweets platters.  We cannot stress enough if you would like us to create any of these items  please order early!  Our holiday flower arrangements always inclues red roses, hydrangeas, and without propery planning our floral suppliers always sell out!

The weekly offerings of produce remain the same, some baby greens are ready to pick!  (We just do nothave large quantities right now).

Ciders and canned goods make wonderful hostess gifts and are great for those on your list that you just have no idea what to gie!  Food is always welcome!

Happy first week of December. The weather has been agreeable, the greens are growing nicely, a bit slower than anticipated, but well worth the wait.  We have been enjoying a flush of kale for dinners this week.  There is some, not a lot hence we did not put it on the availability list.  For a quick, delicious, nutritious meal, cut the kale and wilt in a skillet with garlic, and olive oil, toss over pasta and there is a wonderful meal.  For added flavor, toss the pasta with one of our salad dressings prior to topping with kale--oh so good!!

Attached is a picture of Andy wilting some kale.  

We have had a busy week many orders for custom wreaths, kissing balls and gift baskets (did you know in each gift basket we include a $10.00 gift certificate?).  Thank you all for your support.  This week we have added Orange & Clove pomanders tied with green picots satin ribbon.  A wonderful tradition of Christmas past.  

We have had many inquiries about CSAs for the 2012 season.  If you are interested please let us know, and we will reserve your spot.  Further details will be available in the next couple of weeks. Yes we can provide Certificates for Holiday giving.

Thanksgiving has come and gone, can you believe it?  A few short weeks until Christmas and then we are into 2012! Where does the time go?  We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and during this time we want to pause and thank you for your support, encouragement and for giving us strength.  The past couple of months have been a test of our commitment as one friend put it.  We are committed to our environment, our communities and to you our supporters. We would not be moving forward if it had not been for you.

Gift baskets have been well received and we are still taking orders for pick up or delivery.  (please call and we will let you know exactly what products are in each size).  Our 36" wreaths are almost sold out and 14" are in limited supply (no worries for those of you that ordered in advance, yours are reserved)  The lavender products pictured on our Facebook page are sold out as well.  The scented simmer pouches have been well received, with Lavender & Rosemary being in the #1 position Saturday, and Holiday Spice running a close second. 

You may order from the Holiday Sweets Menu through out the season, please know that we need to give Ami 48 hours notice.  Great platters for parties.

Andy does have driveway stakes available in 4'.  He makes these on our sawmill, points them and sells by the each or in bundles of 25.  We also have bundled fire wood and hardwood fire starters.

What a glorious weekend!! Hope you were able to enjoy! We are gearing up for the Holidays!!

This will be a very busy start week. Gift Basket Orders, Wreath Orders, Kissing Balls to prepare, Pies to order, and the list goes on and on.  

As you know we are always on the search for new, local, unique items that make you happy, and support a local business. Last week we found The Foothills Delery this week we found Square Peg Industries!!

We are introducing the "Simmer Pouch" line to you.  Theses are oversized tea bags full of natural ingredients for you to gently simmer on the stove (especially on the wood stove) or to use dry in clothing drawers, in the car or any other area you would greatly enjoy the fragrance.  

There are 4 fragrances for you to choose from, no fillers, just pure aromatic pleasures.  In addition we have for the naughty this year the Snowman Poop Bags and the Reindeer Poop bags.  Just for fun they always get a laugh. 

We have been busy taking orders for our gift baskets.  4 sizes, full of granola, canned goods, simmer pouches, salad dressings, dip mixes and Snowman and Reindeer bags! The larger baskets have 1/2 gal and 1 gallon of cider!!. Finished with shrink wrap and garnished with velvet bow, these baskets are sure to please.  Very unique, very chic (we can deliver locally, shipping is also available--same for our wreaths, we start shipping this week nationally and internationally!!)

Well Hello Everyone!

Now, that I am getting a better understanding of how to use this blog, hopefully I will make it much more pretty and filled with more information for you!

We make just Bows too!

 Don't forget the bows!  Now this little dog (Pigpig) does NOT like the camera, but she did love her bow! We make all of our bows by hand! They are perfect to decorate around the house, in windows, place on gifts, or pets!!  We put them on everything!  Come by and place your order for 5 or more!

Whew! In all of this holiday excitement I forget to tell everyone that our winter greens are coming along!  We will have items for your holiday dinner including herbs, jams, fruit butters, and salad green!

We will have strawberries Tuesday afternoon!! Remember this is a short season if you plan on making jams, jellies, pies, or freezing for the winter, buy now.  These berries smell so, so , so very sweet when we bring them in. This week we have a limited amount, so please order early and pick up on Tuesday afternoon. 

We now have a great supply of frozen pies.  Great for the picnics.. just bake off and enjoy!

Forgive us for the delay in the availability list  here it is finally.  Thanks for all your inquiries we are all very well, just planting and prepping like crazy!  Thank you all for a very successful spring season. We are so very grateful for your support. We look forward to providing you with great produce, fruits and herbs in the summer season. 

The praying mantis have hatched, and we are spotting them all over the green house!! The lady bug larvae are busy scurrying around. And every thing is growing so beautifully.  Just pray we do not get hit with violent storms that can produce high winds but worst of all that awful, awful four letter word.  Starts with h and ends with l, I won't say it or write it not jinks anyone!  Here is the thunder over us now.....

This week the availability list has some new additions.  The peas sell out very, very quickly, so if you are in the market for fresh peas, do not hesitate, or you will be disappointed. The mustard greens are strong in flavor and can be sautéed, eaten fresh and mixed with other greens.  Just a note, the strawberries are forming very nicely.  So that we may order, pick and plan properly, could you please let us know if you will be interested in purchasing strawberries from us.  Our own berries will be organic and 8.00 a quart, we will also have conventional berries, grown locally (either Harwinton or Canton  but we have not yet confirmed the price).

Happy Mother's Day evening to you. We hope you were able to enjoy this weekend. We sure did. 

We did the second release of the lady bugs this week and they are much happier with the warmer weather. The peas are budding, it won't be long before we have fresh snap peas ready.  We continue to plant to meet all the current and future greens needs.  

This week we will have a wider selection of vegetable, herb, flower, annual, perennial and ornamental plants for you to choose from.

This weeks featured flower is the large african marigold, in orange.  These plants grow to 18" tall with numerous blossoms.  WE LOVE THIS PLANT!! We will be planting some along the fence line with the snapdragons and zinnias.  

The granola has been a huge hit this week, if you have not yet tried it, we are sure you will not be disappointed. 

Remember to order early as crops are limited, and we do fill orders on a first come/first serve basis.

Hello...

We thought we really could skip a week un-noticed...you guys are really paying attention.  So, forgive us for being tardy this week, we are researching ways to clone ourselves. 

For farm news, you will see that some of the crops are "resting"  we picked pretty hard last week, and these crops need to flush again, so another week and we should be back in the running.  Last week was the first release of the beneficial insects.  Praying mantis, lady bugs and lace wings.  Well the lady bugs were all belly up, so we will be having a second release this week, when the temps. go up a little more.  Soon we will have baby mantis all over the place (hopefully the birds won't find them).  I will try very hard to get pictures for you.  

We had a wonderful 3rd anniversary weekend.  Thank you all for your well wishes, words of kindness, gifts and mostly your friendships. We hope we can celebrate the next 30 years together!!

We would like to wish all of our Mom's a very, very happy Mothers Day.  We do have some very exciting plants just for you.  We have bunches and bunches of flower bouquets, tropicals and hanging baskets.  Our ornamentals were delivered just today with beautiful knock out roses, blooming hydrangeas and liliacs.  We are sure we have something to make your Mom happy.
