Woodland Harvest is an organic permaculture farm where regeneration, transformation & sustainability influence the choices & decisions around developing permaculture visions for the farmstead. There are dogs & cats who come & go, a donkey, couple of goats, sometimes a pig, & a variety of heritage breed hens, ducks and bees. The farm animals are grass fed, free range and never use hormones or antibiotics. The space is rustic: micro hydro electricity, solar hot water, veggie vehicles, composting toilets indoors & outdoors & grey water drainage system, gravity fed spring water & winter cooking and heating with a woodstove.
This is a magical space to share with folks and this farm would not be where it is without the help & support from friends & volunteers. Accepting volunteers ongoing; please email before calling. Each season the homestead moves further from the grid, so folks who have experience with alternative energies, building techniques &/or carpentry are especially helpful.
Woodland harvest hosts a variety of small events, trainings & workshops throughout the year focused around activism. Permaculture, & sustainability. Located near the NC, VA & tn border about 25 min. From Boone, NC in Appalachia's Blue Ridge Mountains at the end of the end of the road, and the farm borders 2400 acres of protected forest.
