Eat Seasonally! We have flavorful vegetables and other unique agricultural goods April through December. In the spring, we offer early season plants for home gardens and vegetables at the Green Market for Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Summer Roots is comprised of more than 5 acres farmed intensively --- while half are vegetables and the other are dedicated to building the soils. Community supported agriculture and farmer market produce is a significant emerging trend in the transition of developing relations with where your food comes from and how it is raised to promote health and sustenance. Who's Your Organic Farmer? In 2012, we strive to offer open-pollinated and heirloom varieties of vegetables and herbs along with a colorful array of food choices and entertaining recipe ideas. Find our innovative displays of colorful and flavorful vegetables, herbs, garlic, ginger, and fresh cut flowers, where variety is labeled with its cultivar name and comments about its characteristic. We emphasize taste, spice, aroma, and comparisons with selections of other foods and recipe ideas for how to pair our specialty produce with wine. Let's Grow Together We cultivate the soil, plant the seeds, pull the weeds, harvest and sell fresh produce, and provide farmer market education experiences. Who are your farmers? Heather is the mother of three broccoli ~ okra eating children with Mike, an environmental writer and activist for school policy. We both engage in educational research around farmer's market culture. Where the Elite Farm in their Bare Feet "Responsibly Nurtured Organic" is our promise that we do not use synthetic fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide, and genetically modified organisms. We believe in revitalizing and keeping the trust that is based on a relationship between farmer and consumer. Market patrons have the opportunity to select their produce and also engage with the unique educational experience that farmer's markets provide.
