Agriculture and Land-Based Training Association (ALBA)

Family Farm
The Agriculture and Land-Based Training Association (ALBA) provides educational and business opportunities for farm workers and aspiring farmers to grow and sell crops grown on two organic farms in Monterey County, California. ALBA's mission is to create economic opportunity for limited-resource and aspiring organic farmers through land-based education in the heart of the Salinas Valley. Our 100-acre training facility is a place of learning and advancement for hard-working, low-income farm workers and aspiring farmers seeking a better life. ALBA's 5-year Farmer Education and Enterprise Development (FEED) program aims to achieve the following: To develop skills to prepare to launch farm businesses and advance careers. To establish and grow new organic farms. To market produce grown in response to growing demand for organic food grown by small farmers.
