Down home farm is a small family farm, Jesse Downs, Liz Voz, and our three boys, Otto, Ivan, and Leland. We raise berries, fruit, and garlic. We also raise sorghum and make old fashioned sorghum syrup.
In addition, we raise a few acres of open pollinated and feed out some hogs for meat. We just (2012) put up a high tunnel to help peach trees brave our Wisconsin winters (fingers crossed). We are not certified organic, but are committed to natural growing processes and use no GMOs or antibiotics, and no herbicides or pesticides not approved for organic use. We sell or products at the Viroqua Farmers Market and to local people and businesses. We try to mix old fashioned elbow grease and old iron with the best new science and innovations, and have fun doing it!
